Xbox quality of life confirmed! Nintendo better watch the fuck out. xD

Microsoft's plan is as simple as it is large: to be the central repository for all the world's fitness data, to develop and distribute the best hardware and the best software for helping people live healthier lives. It doesn't matter what platform you're on, it doesn't matter what app or device you use. Microsoft wants to be everywhere.



I find this the most important feature, and great for MS to build a cross-platform device.
With their experience in software development, as well with their large investments in online connectivity, MS could really become #1 in this area.


Personally, I have no need for devices like this (until they come up with a sit-on-your-ass-and-talk-and-type-bullshit tracker, I could certainly utilize that one daily...)

I'm betting on Microsoft launching another high-end phone to take advantage of this fitness band and its abilities and take them to the next level.
That'll most likely take Windows Phone sales past 12 million for every quarter next year.

Seems interesting. Price point is lower than I expected, but more unexpected was that it would work with Android and iOS, in addition to Windows Phone.

I fiind it a good business decision. They want to get into the whole QoL segment, and become a major player, and that is hard to do with proprietary devices that work on only 2-3% of phones...

This only works on windows phones?

Wearable tech like this scares me, I prefer the Nintendo Sleeping Aid.

It was stated in the article (and my previous post) that this would also work on Android and iOS.

Personally, I'm excited for this kind of tech! I've worn a watch on my wrist every day of my life for the past 12 years. I think a smartwatch would be a great option for me once I get a smartphone. Yeah, I'm still stuck in 2007 with a buttoned phone with no touchscreen.

In particular, I've been eyeing Sony's Smartwatch 2. It has a good balance of price/performance, and works on all Android devices. (Samsung's Galaxy Gear only works on Galaxy phones)

I like the concept but I don't really want to have my location and vitals beamed up to the cloud. How accurate are the sensors... will it know when I'm drunk. How about when I am having CosmicSex?
