13 seconds for me

Really? What processor...

22 seconds on my Quad Core 2.2 GHz

19 seconds on my roommates Quad Extreme 3.0 GHz

(But to be fair this is with Norton 360 running on both of them, which slows it down a lot.

My comp is less than a year old its over clocked to 4.2GHz and has 6GB of memory and two51mb GPU need to update the gpu while i think about it but im using it for programing and environmental design hopefully ill become better soon lol.

If you want to program the first thing you have to learn is that "4.2 GHz" doesn't mean anything now-a-days.  The only CPUs I know with that clock speeds like that are 3-4 generations old (Pentium 4). A Core2Extreme or even a Core is way faster than P4 4.2GHz.   Technically it could be a Core2 Extreme x6850 OC, a chip that was $1300 a year ago (and still is $980)

The next thing you should know is that 6GB of ram has no bearing on the pi calculation.  The Memory clock-speed might, but not much.  Unless you are running Vista 64 Premium or Ultimate your computer won't recognize anything more than 3.2 GB.

Last, (more of a question) what the heck is "two51mb GPU"?

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

and download a virus to my beautiful computer...no thank you

Athlon 64 6000+ X2 also and I got 28 seconds for 1M.

Thats nearly 20% faster than me with the same CPU. Curious.

Bus Speed and the Memory timings can make difference.  Still thats a rather big difference for just those factors.  I'm at stock settings also so its not that.  I'd have to know more about your setup to say for sure.

Mobo: Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe

Ram: 2gb KVR

VGA: 2x 3850 512 (not that vga cards matter in this).

All are at default settings. I am hoping to get a phenom soon, so I will see how fast that can do it.

Well there is no bus speed differences since you're using an AM2 CPU (AM2+ would open your mobo up more), I'm guessing that the difference is being caused by two things.  The speed of the ValueRam and a difference in software running in the background during the test.   I keep a fairly light load on my PC, partially because I re-install far to often and partially because it is a slight performance increase.

Note I'm assuming you have 2 1GB sticks of Ram to take it advantage of Dual Channel, if you don't that could definitely account for a large difference.  I'm pretty sure you know that but pointing it out anyways.

If you're curious my specs are:

Mobo: Asus Crosshair

RAM: 4 GB Corsair XMS DDR2 800

Video: 2x eVGA 8800 GT 512

I know the crosshair is regarded as one of the faster Mobos out and there can be noticeable differences even with tech specs that are identical.  Just another example of why tech specs aren't the whole picture...etc...with that said the M3A32-MVP-D is no slouch either. I couldn't find any head to head benchmarks for them though to see if that was the issue, good mobo reviews are pretty hard to find...most people seem to ignore them in favor of the sexier parts (CPU/GPU/etc..).

^^ I want to change my ram, but as my whole pc was built for free with demo kit at work I had to take what was there. Maybe I can blag something better to go with my shiny new Phenom 9600 when it arrives.

My computer's been calculating it for the last 4 hours.

On a serious note, it takes it over a minute, but then I change the settings to 'Super Power' (Yes it has a function called that) and then it takes it under a minute.

2 minutes and 9 seconds on my 2.4 Ghz Intel Celeron, 512 MB Ram...
The worst time in this thread >_>'

@AoA: Is that setting on your pc or in the program?

I'm pretty sure my computer would explode before it got much further than 3.14

I guess its time for a new computer then...
