Looks like you don't get what I'm saying, maybe this image clears some things up: http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/195601iE6B39142D8DF1DC0/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1

That image has an agenda, which is to discredit Arcade and Indie titles.

Where's State of Decay? Where is Iron Brigade? Where is Battleblock Theater? Where is Dishwasher? etc, etc...

LOL yeah that pic is a great reminder of how different indie games and arcade titles were viewed back then. The agenda was so big they were just left off the list. Now this gen PS4 has more indie titles and suddenly it's a huge deal and the games are so awesome.

Another funny thing about that list is people constantly use it to show Sony supporting their console but plenty of those games have nothing to do with Sony at all.

it was the 360's 9th year.

it was the PS3's 8th year.

and... recent adopters cant play back catalogues? buying games from the library is banned?  Only excluisve games are released?

give it a rest.

Not a valid point since PS3's 9'th year (2014) still had way more exclusives than Xbox 360's 9'th.

To name a few off the top of my head:

Kingdom Hearts 2.5
Tales of Xillia 2
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma
Drakengard 3
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles
Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered (Also on Vita)

It's also getting Guilty gear Xrd next month (also on PS4).

And this is not something to sweep under the rug, because this doesn't only apply to the consoles last year/s.
This problem has been going on ever since 2010.

Note how many 360 exclusives were for Kinect. And how few were "normal games". Now compare to PS3's side.
If we include 2014 in this picture, the gap will only get even wider.

You can bet that Microsoft are going to do the same thing a few years from now with the less popular Xbox One.

Those don't count. They're Japanese and not made by Sony. They were literally handed to the ps3

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

Isn't State of Decay also out on PC as well as Iron Brigade? Also, that list is actually missing some other PS3 exclusives, too, like Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, Journey, Tokyo Jungle, and Rain.

You're just confirming the agenda. Plenty of the games on that Playstation list are not PS3 exclusive.

As a huge 360 fan I was very disappointed because of the lame support in the last years of the console. There was nearly nothing than Forza since ~2012 on the exklusive list, while Ps3 got great games even in 2013. It's one of the 2 reasons why I'm changing to Playstation in this generation. Their support with great games last longer!

Didn't the Wii sell really well in Japan, though?

But it doesn't matter if japanese software doesn't sell. Wii could sell 200 millions in Japan, but if next Tales only sells 55k on Wii and 62k on Ps3, they're going to keep aiming for Playstation.

Vesperia pumped some "healthy" numbers on 360 in Japan, but when the Ps3 version released, it sold in Japan as much (if not more) than Vesperia in all the world combined on 360.

But don't misunderstand me. Even if the Ps3 tech was a pain in the ass for developers (instead of your theory of well built), brand reckognition also pay an important role; and if japanese people prefer Ps3, well, kudos to Sony there.

Well, the "well built" part wasn't referring to the hardware, but the reputation among the Japanese audience. You do have a point in brand recognition, though.

I just kinda find it weird because Wii had more sales and was easier to develop for considering it was architecturally similar to the Gamecube. Maybe it was because it was technically too weak to run the games the devs want to make? *shrugs*

Heh, maybe. But just to set more light into the Tales of example I put (mind you, this doesn't apply to every japanese developer):

1 Tales of Graces f PS3 2010 Role-Playing Namco Bandai Games 0.25 0.14 0.43 0.07 0.89
2 Tales of Graces Wii 2009 Role-Playing Namco Bandai Games 0.00 0.00 0.22 0.00 0.22

@Bolded are Japan sales. Playstation has always managed to outsell every other Tales of game, both multiplatform or exclusive. (Tales of Symphonia is the only exception to the rule, but even then Tales of Symphonia 2 underperformed).

First of all, many games on that list are not Japanese.
But who developed them isn't the point. Sony did not develop Beyond: Two Souls or Resogun for example, but they published them. Microsoft are also able to take measures in order to get developers to publish games for them exclusively, for example by publishing them, but they didn't.

Actually every game on the list that post was referring to is Japanese...

Here it is again
Kingdom Hearts 2.5
Tales of Xillia 2
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma
Drakengard 3
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles
Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered (Also on Vita)
It's also getting Guilty gear Xrd next month (also on PS4).

I think Hiku was referring to the list in the picture, not the list he typed out. I might be wrong though, so don't take my word for it
