A simple question to everybody.
Which company is more succesful, the one which have small sales but gets profit, or a company with a huge sales and losses?

Hard to say, I'd say the one with moderate/decent sales and ridiculously huge profits is the best :P

Then for your company of choice best way will be to drop game business and increase profits even more... :)))

We're not shareholders. The company that sells the most consoles is the most succesful here.

Its strange... Looking that way for me the most succesful company is the company with the best games (for my opinion, ofc!)

Sure, but this website is about which company sells how much of which console, not their wallets. I would agree with you if it was called forbes or something, but we're VGChartz...

The company with good sales and huge profit. That's the one that'll last.

Panasonic (who was a major manufacturer of Plasmas) and Pioneer does not make Plasma TVs anymore. Wanna know why?

Gaming division made profits of $480m last Q. But MS is making stupid profit every Q so a few hundred M more wouldn't be missed when you're talking $25B profit yearly.

Yes and Sony made the Walkman and Nokia was huge, but those times are over.

A simple question back, not necessarily to you but in general;

Why has the go-to metric for success changed this drastically since the 7th gen when "Nintendomination" was written in every sales thread and the constant thrashing of the competition by the Wii and DS was the single aspect with by far the biggest focus on the boards?

mummelman see other threads with similar topic...war day today!the gap with 3ds shipments and vgc sales are 400k, so for me it isnt overtracked 45m vgc 45.4m nintendo!will nintendo discontinue the old 3ds?

But the shipment breakdown shows 330k stock on Japanese shelves.

You think 70k for 3DS in the channel, WW, is normal??????????????
