I also was going to get a new PSP since my last one well... went through a tragic accident, but then I found the PSP emulator and that revived my love for the console, actually I think that I have never liked its games as much as I am now, playing the games 10x psp res and in a big screen really changes the experience.
of course that might just be me since I wasn't gonna get another PSP for playing on the go , my 3DS currently holds that place.

I like the games on PSP very much, but the hardware annoys me to no end.

PSP is great for emulation but to be honest I'm not a huge fan of many of the more high profile games. Honestly I'd rate the gba's library as better than the psp's... But I have my psp loaded with a ton of gba games.

It does have some great games but if it wasn't for emulation mine would have gathered dust.

I like action games, shooters, and arcade style games. So I have an affinity for PSP.

It has good games other handheld consoles have no answer to.

All those games you are naming are the reason i got a PSTV (sure not all of them work on the system but a lot of them do), also just to add other games that were great for the PSP:

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is my favourite game of all time!

Crisis Core is amazing, as well.

Speaking of which, KH2.5 will drop in less than 2 months.  I want the limited edition with the artbook and special case but I don't know which retailers have it.

And the PSP... it was amazing.  Still have mine.  In terms of the emulation scene... it was a champion. 

With a legacy like that, its a shame that the Vita isn't doing better.

I'm sorry to say that the PSP didn't have a single game that ever interested me. Not one. I once thought it had a new MediEvil, but it didn't, and I found out that it was just an inferior port of the first PS1 game. I don't have one myself obviously, but both my nephew and my niece had one, and I never liked what I saw. Maybe they just didn't have the right games.

Needless to say, it's sales do prove that it certainly has it's place in history and it at least had enough to entice the amazing number of 80m people to buy it. A number 3DS will be hard pressed to reach. I'm also sure there would be plenty on the system I would actually like, however I remain ignorant with little incentive to educate myself.

Not one game, that's at least one less than the Vita has that I'm interested in. With home-consoles I can play on everything, and every console has it's classics, but in the handheld arena, no one but Nintendo brings the goods. Ever. I'd rank them, from best to worst;

1. GameBoy/Color
2. 3DS
3. DS
4. GameBoy Advance

3DS has a chance to beat GameBoy, it's basically tied in my eyes. Amazing system.
