From mynintendonews.com:

"Want to get a free Amiibo figure? Well if you decide to purchase Super Smash Bros on the Wii U from US retailer Toys R Us then you’re entitled to one absolutely free. It appears as though you can select any Amiibo so you’ll have to make a choice. Super Smash Bros retails for $59.99 at Toys R Us and is due for release next month."

Wow, that is pretty tempting! Anyone know if its valid for Canada as well?

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

What about the Game + Controller + Wii U Adapter bundle? Will we still be able to get the free amiibo? Cause if so, I'll gladly cancel my pre-order on Amazon.

That's a smart promotion. First hit should be free if you want kids to come back for more.

I'm jealous!

Then again.....I'm waiting for an amiibo of my mains!!!

I kinda want the Zelda one, but I'd rather get one of Rosalina or Lucina.
Though since I pre-ordered my Smash game for $36, I can just buy an amiibo separately and it'll still be cheaper than retail. But great offer for those who haven't found a cheaper than retail copy of the game. :)

Where can I get that deal? O_O

Well before I set you up for disappointment, it's mainly for Europeans.
It's on a site called wowhd. It does have a US section, but sadly they are more expensive in the US store. =/
I think it's the dollar exchange rate that makes it so cheap for us Europeans.
Basically, just convert the number you see by dividing it by 10 and you'll have what the games cost in USD.

http://www.wowhd.se/games/super-smash-bros-nintendo-wii-u/dp/38505639/68258727

Smash here says 479 kr.
That would be the equivalent of $47,9 USD.
However, the thing about this site is that they have 20% sales every now and then on games. Not right now, but once a month those sales tend to pop up. That drops the price to $38. The base price was slightly cheaper when I placed my order so it was $36.

Sadly, the US store seems to be almost completely out of Wii U products for some reason: http://www.wowhd.us/games/Nintendo-Wii-U-7432379/0/pre-releases

There's nothing under "coming soon", and not much else in the other sections. I dunno why though. Itt wasn't like that last time I looked.
But like I said, it's a bit more pricey there than in the EU stores due to the exchange rate, so I'm not sure exactly how much cheaper you could have found it for there.
You can keep an eye out for it though if you feel like it. It's free shipping too.

I've ordered from this site many times ever since 2012.
The shipping can take a while. That's the only drawback really. If I need a game gauranteed on release day, I usually buy from Amazon.

Dang, one of the few times it sucks to be an American gamer. Then again, this is my first Wii U game (out of six) this year that I will have to pay full price for. You win some you lose some

Its tempting but I think I'll use my $15 of eshop credit and get it digitally.
