Future Zelda would annoy me. It'd be like giving Mario a gun - just wrong for the franchise.

Or like, say, giving Mario a talking water pack?

...yeah, maybe that wouldn't be a good idea.

Yeah the water pack didn't really work out though. I have heard a lot of people say that SMS would have been better without FLUDD.

Sunshine/Fludd are fine in my book. Maybe I'm the only one.

Future Zelda would pretty much destroy the series for me.

I personally hope Zelda Wii is cel shaded, with a look similar to TWW's. I would like it if it was sea faring (TWW needs another sequel, PH was not worthy) or if it was set in Hyrule. (could be interesting)

lol...funny, I felt that Celda would ruin the series for me, as well.  Of course, with every iteration of a Nintendo franchise I am constantly surprised and comforted to know that Nintendo doesn't make bad games.  I enjoyed Windwaker just as much as Ocarina (or nearly).  If Nintendo decided to experiemnt with a Zelda based in the future (of Hyrule) I would have complete faith that they wouldn't screw it up....this because I know they never have.

I really, really don't like the idea of a Zelda game set in the future.

I want a full console sequel to The Wind Waker. I know, my hopes were destroyed when PH came out, but I still see a lot of potential for WW. It is the perfect excuse to play as a character other than Link. I'm looking at you, Aryll.

Imagine this. It is peaceful day on Outset island, all is well. Aryll is up at her lookout, and she sees a great storm coming in over the horizon. As she watches, she notices that there are cyclones forming from the clouds. She hurries home, only to be swept up by cyclones, and as she rises she watches her home being destroyed. Just before she loses conciousness, she catches a glimpse of a shadow being in the sky. When she awakens, she is on in a strange jungle. There is no ocean for miles, and lying before her in pieces is Tetra's ship.

So, what have I done here with a very poorly written opening to Wind Waker 2? I've changed the protagonist to Aryll, which is a good fit. Aryll was once captured, it kind of toughened her, plus her brother is the Hero of the Winds, and bearer of the Triforce of Courage. I've also introduced a new world, one where sailing is not needed. I've created a quest. Find Link, because there is evidence that he is alive, and find Arylls grandmother (along with the villagers). I also tried to introduce a new manifestation of Ganondorf. The shadow being was the Wind God Cyclos possessed by Ganon.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Zelda game that fully explains the split timeline theory.

"Do you think you could get any more spittle on those fishy lips of yours?" All characters depicted are really stupid and disgusting. Any similarities to actual persons would be really sad.

For one game, me neither. Mario always shuffles up his accessories, and I didn't see the backpack as worse than fireflowes, raccoon suits, invisibility hats, or bee costumes.

Back on topic...

We've gotten our traditional Zelda game, and if you ask me it was a bit too traditional. I'd really like to see them shake the game up as they did with Majora's Mask.

Stylistically, I'd love for them to either go back to WW/PH style, or try something equally radical. I'm tired of the push for realism in a fantasy game that has always had a cartoonish style to it. Link's world is one of fantasy and wonder, not grit.

However, the look is less important than the play, and this is where I'd like to see some new things. Time to get rid of the same old items (in the same old order), the same old races and the same old plot. I know Ocarina was great, but it's time to move past.

I've been with the Zelda franchise since the first game and its hypnotizing gold-cart were on the scene. That said I think this is actually a plausible theory and something I'd like to see tried at least once. On the other hand, I don't want to go with this too much because ever since that Future Zelda april fools trailer from last year, it seems like a popular theory and the more people jump on the idea, the less I see it happening for Retro Zelda.

The idea of Retro doing a spin-off of any kind doesn't quite fit right.

...what do you mean? Metroid Prime is a spinoff, or rather a subseries that plays second fiddle to the main series. Why doesn't it fit for Zelda? Future Zelda would almost certainly be a spinoff, especially judging from its description as unconventional. Of Zelda Wii is described this way too but Zelda Wii will most likely be laying down the new foundation for Zeldas to come. Retro Zelda willmost likely be unique compared to even that...

Did anyone see the "other" predictions at the bottom? Think they're ridiculous?

Pikmin 3 sounds about right, Animal Crossing I'd push around November, and Kid Icarus certainly isn't coming anytime soon.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

I like the idea's around a Futuristic Zelda alot. But Nintendo will keep the Zelda series in the past, in the universe of fairy tales where it belongs.

But however they can always create a new IP that is just like Zelda but set in the future with more RPG elements. A new IP that Nintendo can call their own Final Fantasy beater!

I've played a lot of bad Nintendo games. AoL and PH are very mediocre.
