I think 2016 because of price drops and a good amount of games to choose between. Next year Xbox is going to sell very nicely with Halo 5, not only that but all the other games already coming out. Sunset overdrive I think will grab a few people. Xbox is doing a great job on pushing some games out. I'm excited for these next few months, I'm going to be broke but having a hell of a time.

ah but PS consoles have a tendency to last longer and peak later so it could balance out on that side. |
PS3 peaked later because it had a pathetic start, look at PS2, if OP is correct, it peaked quite early. It doesn't matter if they keep selling for many years, they just can't maintain those huge sales.
In GTA 6 year
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
None of the big 3 will catch the mass market this generation. I strongly believe, like Yoshida worry, that PS4 might be more frontloaded than many hope. So i say all 3 will peak in 2015, with the PS4 taking the biggest piece of the pie in this contracted market.
