Damn, lowest score yet of 70 from Game Revolution. Skimming through looks like they don't have many complaints either though, except for somehow claiming it seems "last gen." Um...OK?

At least their justifications were better than Polygon's hamfisted attempts at doling out the justice. Not sure I agree with knocking it that far down for the reasons they stated but oh well. They probably would've scored it better if it were on PS4/X1

I've explained my reasons to KLAMarine already, but just to clarify I actually like Bayonetta, the first Bayonetta was my first PS3 game and I plat'd it (I didn't even notice that the performance was supposedly super terrible until I read about it afterwards) and I don't really care who wins GOTY, 2015 is going to be the PS4s first big year anyway, 2014 is just filler. :P

Also I've only just started playing my first Souls game a couple days ago, so I'm not really invested in the series yet, I want Dark Souls 2 to win because I predicted it, not because I think Dark Souls 2 is the better game.

Yeah there are still some contenders, but ever game not achieving the magical 92 (or 91 I'm not sure yet), brings me closer to being right.

I think it's more like, "Wow, even in spite of their massive bias against Nintendo, GameSpot was forced to recognize this game's greatness." Obviously an overreaction, GameSpot has given high praise to Nintendo games before. Their last 10/10 was Mario Galaxy 2, and their GOTY 2013 was Link Between Worlds.

Every site has an off review every now and then. I don't think GS has any kind of agenda against Nintendo, but it's possible that most of their writers simply don't have a preference for the kind of games Nintendo makes.

Also, GameSpot had a huge downsizing recently where they laid off some of their more... outspoken... reviewers. So it's possible that change in staff has affected their average taste in games. But that was very recently.
