Yea but just cause its new doesn't mean it will sell as well as a remaster although,  granted, in a lot of cases they do but GTA V is a special case imo

New AC games usually sell around 9 million units in the hloday season, and Watch Dogs has already sold over 8 million units. Even though GTA is huge I doubt it can sell that much on PS4 + XB1 this year as its just a port, and ports don't sell that well regardless of how big the franchise is.

Well... If you look at say Asscreed Black Flag which released in 2013... For the ps4, it sold 1.86 million and For X1, it sold 0.87 million... It only goes to 9 million if you count 4 platforms in total so thats a bit of a wonky way of saying it since its 4 platforms vs 2... And the samething goes for watch_dogs cause thats around 4sh million for current gen hardware so... Eh

I get what you are trying to say but I don't think there is a defintive way to say it will sell blah much on current gen hardware alone cause most games these days are cross gen so we will see

I'm surprised as well that people are saying GTA will sell the most. Its a port of a game everybody has already played. It will sell well but not more than 5m.

Blag Flag came out at the start of this gen though. Now we are seeing games selling much fewer units on the 360/PS3 then they were at that time.

Blag Flag came out at the start of this gen though. Now we are seeing games selling much fewer units on the 360/PS3 then they were at that time.

GTA will sell quite a bit, Though with Smash coming out I have a feeling these games will do ok, not as great as expected.

SSB will sell well, but not as well as any of these games, especially this year.

Didn't know FC3 had sold that much. Also you have a minus whether it's releasing on next gen only or both gens doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose? Anywho I'll take GTA5 I think a lot of people like myself want the big upgrade and to simply have the best version like TLoU or Sleeping Dogs.

Sales only in 2014?  Then need to swap Far Cry 4 and Watch Dogs.  With GTA5, I still think it'll sell more than Watch Dogs.

With the release of GTA5, just about everyone was making comments about how they wanted it on next gen consoles and that they know Rockstar would release it on next gen consoles.  They announced it later on, so exactly what everyone figured.  I think a lot of people who already purchased GTA5 will purchase it again on the next gen consoles and the people who haven't purchased it because they were waiting for the next gen version will also purchase it. 

Also take a look at The Last of Us PS3 and PS4 sales.  Sales were 0.29 : 1.  If you take that ratio to the GTA5 sales, then GTA5 will sell 9.28m on next gen consoles.  Maybe not that amount, but they'll do around eight million because it's a popular IP compared to a new IP.  Next gen versions alone are probably going to sell more than Watch Dogs but going off VGChartz statistics, last gen versions of GTA5 have sold close to three million copies this year, so the next gen versions really only have to sell around five million.  That's very possible.

You are overestimating GTA V on current-gen. I think it will likely sell over 3 million this year, but not more than that. It cannot be compared to TLOU, as TLOU wasn't available to many former X360 gamers last gen who converted to PS4. The same cannot be said for GTA V.
