Maybe that was their intention all along, and now are using this to justify it?

Am I able to download the PS+ version yet or is that a part of the server issues? I just finished Alien: Isolation last night so thought i might try the demo of Driveclub

Not yet for EU PS Store. But it may be different in the US.

Ill check whe i get home this evening.  Just thought of something though.  Kind of wish Driveclub was on PSV now xD  THough it wouldnt have looked as pretty so maybe not, idk

Probably not. The server issues is that it can't handle all the people playing the game. Adding the ps+ version would only make it worse.
They could change the ps+ version to talk to a seperate server instance. They said the hardware was not the issue, the server code is the problem. Splitting it up would help. And at least all the people that already payed for the game don't get thrown out again when the ps+ version finally releases.

I don't understand why they don't split it up for now. It can't be too hard to patch in regional servers and integrate the global rankings later.

Each day something new seems to work. Yesterday in race face off challenges appeared, after previously getting clubs, leaderboards and (sintermittent) multiplayer. Missing still are (club) challenges and driver and club stats.

nope the free version won't be out until the server issues have been resolved. at this moment theres no clear date when it will be out as they are conducting beta test for their server issues. 

Such a joke. After all this time how the hell do you not have servers running properly?

I hope owners of this title get some real good compensation, and I'm talking season pass.

This is why I have restrained myself getting PS+ because of their poor service. If Sony wants $50 from me then they have to prove themselves. It seems I wont be getting PS+ anytime sooner.

They were justified long before all this to be honest.  I genuinely believe that the only reason Studio Liverpool was shut over Evolution is because Driveclub was scheduled for PS4's launch and Liverpool's games weren't as far into development (because they'd made 2048 for Vita's launch).

Same here. And with the long list of single player games I plan to pick up over the next 6-9 months, I don't see myself getting PS+ any time soon.

Not worth the two indie games I will certainly never play anyway. Any AAA game given away I can always easily borrow from a friend...
