Can I ask about this moderation? Is it really bad when most of us in this thread are joking about Phil Harrison? It didn't really stand out as being any different than light hearted banter. Having said that I don't know his mod history, just throwing it out there.

It is as Kapi said. Also his low post count and high trolling MS levels helped sway the decision.

Thabjs for the reply.  It's hard to tell the difference between trolling and a joke sometimes.  Can I ask if I can call someone salty?  A mod did recently so I was wondering if the plebs can do it too.

Which mod? I don't recall this being the case. But no, not a good idea.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

One of my favourite mods (no, not you Cone). He didn't technically call the user salty though, just their post. Oh and he wasn't really wrong either...

No he wasn't wrong.  It's just frustrating when Mr salty comes storming into a thread waving his saltire that we're not allowed call a spade a salty spade.

What's a pleb?

Kerotan, this is not the thread to call other users "salty" or to use generic insults like "pleb", even if referring to yourself. This is a thread to enquire about different matters which relate to the mod team. We are here to answer questions and improve the overall feel of the community (that is everyone, regardless of which console they prefer because in honesty it doesn't matter).  If you want my advice, if you have to think if it's safe to post it and you have to ask in here, then it isn't safe to post it and ask it in here. To my recollection every case has been the same and ended with an emphatic "no".

Perhaps, in future, it would be beneficial to forward these complaints to me, or to Smeags, or to someone else rather than posting them in here because I think it could rub some users up the wrong way; which would only escalate the issue and make things worse. It is not a difficult thing to be "liked" on the VGC forums; you simply need to rise above such comments, ignore them and move on. Be positive; don't post random sly digs at consoles or make it sound like you're being condescending (these are just general tips for everyone, not directed at you).

In short, if you would like to avoid such comments then it's a two way street. As mentioned earlier; the only way to avoid such comments is not to rile people up in the first place. Then things can begin to improve, but whilst posting comments like this one (and others) in this thread, it simply won't happen. I think you can do that.

We are the plebs.  The laymen or peasants.  Whichever floats your boat.

Edit for conegamer,  this was written before I read your post where you suggested you didn't like the word pleb.

Was that not a matter or issue in relation to the mods?  Also I wasn't using the term pleb in a derogatory manner whatsoever.  The tone of my post should make that clear.  If I'm not allowed ask things like that which did actually concern a mod then ok. I won't.

I don't mean this with any disrespect:

I just realised there was a mod called dallinor. Wat.

So? What's wrong with a name like dallinor?

Proud to be a Californian.

Nothing. I just had no idea he was a mod until yesterday.
