Forums - Sony - Driveclub Review Thread - Meta 74

I love how driveclub is the first racing game which has been negatively reviewed by some sites for not being open world! I wonder what the agenda there is :D

Didn't get payed (enough) by Sony, just like Activision didn't pay enough for Good destiny reviews.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

It seems that most of the racing basics are covered but the lack of content really bothers me. Eurogamer is saying that you can finish the career in one day. I don't know how it is difficult to create content for a racing game. There are lots of tracks, when you have that much tracks creating content should be easy, no? Gran Turismo has enough content to last you 6 months.

I'll probably download the plus edition and download a few extra tracks. I don't need the full game it seems.

It is needed about 6 months to created a track in GT... and about 1 month per premium car... that is why they reuse assests from old games... GT5 for example have half of the tracks using assets from GT4.

It's an arcade racer so I'm not interested to begin with, but you can try it for free...why are we reading reviews? As far as I'm concerned reviews are there so you can get any idea of what it's like without spending money on it. If it's free to try what's the point?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

The main good scores are coming from playstation centric sites. This game is getting average scores from notable review sites.

GameTrailers 86
Eurogamer Portugal 80
Eurogamer Italy 80
TheSixthAxis 80
VideoGamer 80
GamesRadar 80
IGN 79
Game Informer 78
Destructoid 75
Polygon 75

All good scores.

The only big to give average scores were: Joystiq, Eurogamer and GameSpot.

PS. I didn't listed any PS centric site... crazy, no?

You definitely cherry picked but 70-79 is average "C" letter grade and a majority of the ones you listed are borderline (80) and you excluded several lower scores. I never said DC was bad, I just disagreed with you saying 74 is a good score. In actuality74 is an AVERAGE score.

Wow, i expected more.

I like this cynical/less inflated reviews too, but it will take time until gamers get used to it.

It is hard to cherry-pick when you have only 6 scores below 6/10 and 4 scores 7/10 from 38 reviews... everything else 28 reviews give good scores.

BTW.

7-8 = Good
5-6 Avarage

This is the correct.

Not this.

There are more than enough cars and tracks in Driveclub. I am talking about races, tournaments, etc. They should have created more events. Racing games should last a long time.

75 ! o/

Now it's a good game, it's green !

Currently at 74 meta. I'm not sue what people expected. The gameplay looked bland and lifeless. I predicted 69 meta. I reckon I might be spot on.

Ps4 exclusives at retail are struggling this gen. I predict the order around 69 meta as well. What's going wring with sonys exclusives?

actually i think the free version on ps+ is a very nice way for people to try out the game, especially as there are not many demos out there nowadays. I really hope more games will follow this so the meta centric view finally disappears as the only measurement for a games fun and value.
