I am really curious as to whats going on behind the scenes cause is it like:

a) Ubisoft is too lazy to put extra effort into the ps4 version
b) There is some money hatting going on
c) They are mentally retarded and they truly believed that there wouldnt be a backlash

I choose d.  All of the above.

In all honesty, the only mistake was talking about it.  Had they not said anything, no one would have known the difference and people would have been happy with their game.  Now, however, it's IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy it, knowing that it could possibly have looked very slightly better!

Basically, they underestimated how whiney the gaming commmunity can be.

Apparently they didn't heed the Watch Dogs warning earlier this year.

What's ironic is that when Sony was making the PS4, it consulted with 3rd party devs (including Ubisoft) to see what kind of specs they wanted. Sony listened to them and now, we're seeing Ubisoft not utilizing those luxuries despite being one of the 3rd parties that asked for those kind of specs. Nice job, Ubisoft -_-"

Exactly.  It would have just been another notch in PS4's resolution belt.  We would have talked about it for a week, then moved on to the next game.  Now, with forced parity, it will be talked about for weeks and will probably end up hurting sales.  Well, unless Ubisoft is just pulling the same thing they did with AC4, and worm there way out of parity with a Day 1 update.  If not, this will not end well for them.

P.S.

Watching IGN Blow up to almost 8000 posts was insane (and funny). By midnight it should be over 10,000 (Did anyone get the DBZ reference?MWAHAHAHAAH!)

Apparently, everything related to this topic is blowing up everywhere. Funny, considering that they did it to avoid the debates...  Or so they say.

No, no, no, NO!!

This is not about the game itself, this is about the practice, it is just not acceptable.

As for the game, it will probably be good.

Or trying to explain why you can't make the main character of Assassin's Creed into a girl.  Wouldn't have been an issue if they hadn't said anything.  The solution is simply to stop letting developers talk honestly, which I imagine is what's going to happen.

Well, the only thing I can think of is B.  It's obvious from other devs/games that if you throw code at the One and it only can output at 900p, you can throw basically the same code at the PS4 and it would easily output at 1080p.  The only way this would be acceptable is if Unity looks FUCKING INCREDIBLE on the PS4.  However, I think everyone knows that there is only going to be a slight upgrade in visuals compared between the two, but without the boost in resolution.  Like I have been saying, I think the wording is right there in their advertising contract with MS.  Now, the only question is if this is for continued parity OR if this is just launch day parity and will be addressed in a patch.

As  they say in my parents country, sometimes prevention is better than the cure. They should've left everything as is to prevent the debate.

I'm kinda wondering about that myself.  Maybe the guy who put it out there this info didn't really like the practise (Ubisoft was probably just going to remain silent about it), so he just blurted it out in a nonchalant manner, which he knows after the #DealWithIt fiasco would cause a shitstorm.  That's the conspiracy theory I'm going with, anyway.
