Forums - Gaming Discussion - Assassin's Creed Unity is 900p/30fps on both PS4 & Xbox One 'to avoid all the debates and stuff'

xbox can't keep up already lol.
poor ps4 owners have to deal with this kind of thing

This may have already been mentioned but I really dont get this. If its the CPU that is holding the game back because of things like AI etc, but the GPUs aren't, then why 900/30? Surely at 900p or 1080p the AI is the same no? This just reeks of holding one version back for the sake of the other. On what planet do Ubisoft think they will benefit from this?

Xbox users who were going to buy the game anyway will still buy it, but a select number of PS4 owners who would have bought will now out of principle not bother. You wander sometimes who makes these decisions high up and how on earth they manage to keep in a job.

They mentioned it themselves. It is "to avoid all the debates and stuff". Their given scenario explains the framerate lock to 30, which is fine. No mention of the resolution cap, which is muddy waters.

In the end, I think the money lost from protesters will be nothing compared to what they - probably - get in return. They may be shameless, but they aren't stupid.

One thing I don't get is why Ubisoft would care what people on forums etc.... have to say about 1080p etc..... so that does make me question why they really did this. Maybe MS did pay Ubisoft to make both games 900p.

Maybe Sony could rush a resolution team over to Ubi a la MS? Would properly get turned away by Ubi security mumbling something about treating everyone the same as they wave though a suspicious green looking van!

a friend has a very special pc, with a big modern gpu and an old q6600 intel cpu, and the cpu was never a problem.

and every pc goes down on its knees if u playing the wrong rts(yes im looking a u load of shit rome 2 with your stupid AI)

This is true for most games but there are exceptions. Like this case for example. The Games nowadays are so heavy on the GPU that the CPU will never even come close to maxing out before the GPU does. But as you said yourself, games with a lot of AI running around, especially if it's not coded optimally will bring down any CPU. As is no doubt the case in ACU.

AC black flag runs fine on his pc and like shit on my, i have a new pc with much better specs, but i have an amd card and he has a nvidia(around the same lvl).

im pretty sure this is because of the nvidia deal with ubi, not because of limitations or m$ money.

i bet the game will look the same on amd cards and on consoles(with a bit higher res and framerate on pc)

and much better on nvidia cards.  they have exclusiv graphic stuff for nvidia and im pretty sure we will not see those on any console, not because they couldnt do it, but because they have amd gpus inside and all features are done with nvidia software and payed by nvidia with a huge amount of copys sold to nvidia for bundling)

I love their reasoning, "to stop all the debates".

VGC users who make thread after thread about a 15 fps advantage, or one toggle higher on the vegetation, etc etc, only have yourselves to blame lol.

They probably patch it. And if not, who fucking cares. Go play on PC if graphics are that important.

The meltdowns in this thread are dazzaling rofl. On topic Ubisoft you are dumb

Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve.

"I don't debate, I just give you that work"- Ji99saw

As an owner of both systems, I have to say I don't care. As long as the game is fun I simply don't care if it is 1080p...

The sad thing is, this isn't even about better playability like, say, having 60 FPS locked. Its about a resolution bump, a small one.
