Wasn't COD originally a PC franchise? I mean the PS2 got spin offs. But the 360 was the first console to get a real COD game and it truly exploded on 360 with Modern Warfare. I wouldn't say PS2 was ever the home of COD. Medal of Honour was king back then.

i'm not in a psoition of knowledge to argue with you over the pc v ps2 thing. And you're right model of honor was king back then. i remember get call of duty 2 big red one as a present and thinking what is this. But I was hooked on it right up util ghosts released! 

But one thing I'll correct you on. I got COD3 with my PS3 at launch and I got COD4 the same day it released on the 360 so your reasos for it being xbox diminant are not valid anyway.

COD3 Wasn't a real COD. It was more a shoe in to get some quick sales.

The original was PC exclusive. The second one eventually got a port to 360 as a launch title but was again primarily a PC title. Big Red was also a console spin off rather than main franchise.

They shared a franchise name but were kinda like how PSP got spin offs of big name games. The reason 360 took the crown though was by default of being the market leader in the territories where COD was biggest. US and UK. Now that PS4 is market leader there its only natural that a large chunk of the COD audience would also migrate to PlayStation.

Some updates:

I just found out that Black Ops 2 was actually the first to sell more on PS3. SO the that was the turning point.

Black OPS 2 PS3 - 13.13M

Black Ops 2 360 - 13.10M

And now that the AW numbers are in the gap is widening big time.

AW PS3 - 2.05M

AW 360 - 1.78M

AW PS4 - 4.26M

AW X1 - 2.76M

With every new COD that comes out that gap will only get bigger.

What about Blops 2 selling more on PS3?

It's multi platform, as it has been since the beginnging..

I do get your point, it does sell more on ps systems, there are more playstations 3/4 than xboxes ... 

LOL so true.  In actuallity, I simply wan't COD to suffer from poor[er] sales so that they realize it needs FIXING.  

The LAG in COD:AW is so bad, and mainly, inconsistent.  Back to back matches can be great and then unplayable, mostly unplayable though.  Same lobbies.

What about it?

There were more 360's than PS3's when BLOPS2 released. ANd even now PS3 only has a tiny amount more. Doesn't stop PS3 AW outselling the 360 AW by a bigger ratio. And remember since MW2 Xbox has had the DLC early plus exclusive marketing and bundles. PS3 winning with BO2 was huge for it. Now it's going to dominate on PS4.
