I guess the positive is that there are a lot of quality games to experience even if many are cross gen. Looking at stuff like Destiny, the last gen versions really are visibly worth, so you are benefitting from last gen.
But I do agree, real next gen begins Q1 next year IMO.

Next-gen is just starting. but its still in flux. It wont truly start until next year where several next-gen exclusives are coming.
I went from not wanting to buy anything to suddenly realizing that I'm about to be overwhelmed. Luckily, I like these odds.

The last gen version of SoM doesn't have the Nemesis system though (the thing that makes the game unique and praised). So the new gen does help a lot there.

I know its dramatic. But from the comments most of the members it seems they are unaware about how a new gen starts. Either they have started playing after 2007 or they have forgotten how it starts.
Well, with the Syria bombings, the ebola scare, the Israel situation, Brazil at risk of turning into a dictatorship and all that, i have not had any time to celebrate, but you are right, this new gen is pretty nice,
I am enjoying it.
So far INFAMOUS - Second Son is my favorite game and LBP3 is my sure bet of good time to be had soon.
I look foward for games like Bloodborn, X, Zelda, SNES Remix and Batman. I hope Square can deliver some good stuff (Hitman was amazing last gen) and MS invest in some deep exclusive, could be Alan Wake 2 or something like that.

As someone who got back into gaming just six months (or seven) ago, the current-gen (I refuse to call it next-gen for obvious reasons) is fantastic! And, I still have a backlog to work against.
