Forums - Gaming - How good are u at Guitar Hero III?

I'm a freaking god at the game.......undefeated on Rock Band online (different game but same gameplay) and pretty much owned every song in the game except Dragonforce. I mean, I beat it, but I only 3 starred it

Rock Band guitar parts are generally a lot easier than Guitar Hero. If your any good at GH you'll rule RB. And how exactly do you define owned? Just curious cause im a really decent player if you check my rankings out on either scorehero or guitarhero.com and ive been beaten multiple times online.

That's true. Rockband expert is beginner hard stuff, on GH3, for the most part. Too easy, imo. Then again, I've never played any of the DC.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Wow. That's the first time I've seen the full song. That kid did REALLY awesome on that run, but I think Neversoft went waaaaaaaayy overboard with that song. That looks worse than the stupid buckethead song from #2.

 @Crabmaster

I define it as basically 5 starring just about every song.....except in my case, not Dragonforce. And about RB.....I just havent been beaten yet. Boilermaker11 is my PSN ID if you want to play sometime

@Zenfoldor

Thing is though, the HOPOs on GH3 are WAY too generous. You can hold you finger on a note at any point before a hammer on is supposed to happen, and you'll still hit the note, whereas on GH2 or RB, you have to hit the note at the correct time it passes. Granted that RB is SUPPOSED to be a little easier because it's more focused on letting "the band" play, but still, the mechanics, I think, are better. There's no way that ANYONE could beat Dragonforce on RB.

@Sqrl

..........I already knew about that kid. He takes what I can do, beats it to death, and then rapes it...and he's only like 8. But hey, I give credit where credit is due

 Trust me its worse in my case =P

But the sick part is that he isn't the best out there either....

I can get 99% on most medium songs. I only use the sixaxis though, i have like no control over my little finger for some reason when i play with the guitar. Unfortunately this means getting to hard mode is gonna be a bitch on the normal controller cos X = orange whereas the rest are just the R and L buttons. Does any1 else not use the guitar?

Post some friend codes on guitar hero so we can make some band on leader boards on the official site of guitar hero.

Everyone that loves Guitar Hero... have you played Rockband? I loved Guitar Hero as much as the next guy (played through 1-3 on Hard) but once I got Rockband I simply can't go back to Guitar Hero, I mean I tried to but was simply disgusted. And yes, Rockband is best when played with 2-4 people, but heck, I would have bought it just for the single player Guitar mode. Here are three reasons why even if you only play single player, Rockband is better than Guitar Hero

1) Characters are fully customizable, and when I say fully I mean fully. Do you want a filipino whore as your bass player? Done. Want to have a topless guy wearing with a mullet and then put a giant tatoo of a peanut on his face? Done.

2) THE SONGS ARE ACTUALLY DONE BY THE BANDS THEY ARE KNOWN BY. This seems trivial and call me silly but when I hear "Killer Queen" I want to hear the version I grew up listening to, not some stupid cover on the song because Guitar Hero was to cheap to actually, you know, pay for the full rights to the song.

3) The songs are actually songs I enjoy, and songs I recognize. Guitar Hero 1 had some great classics and Guitar Hero two had a few good ones, but when playing Guitar Hero 3 I would unlock 5 new songs and be like "Uh... okay I think I might recognize this one out of the five.... nope never mind, never heard it before". Meanwhile Rockband has a selection of oldies rock songs that most people know along with tons of modern songs that, unless your living in a cave, you have heard on the radio.

Blink 182 - All the Small Things

Jet - Are you Gonna Be My Girl

All-American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret

Ok Go - Here It Goes Again

Then I go back to playing Guitar Hero with it's eight or ten non customizable players and play badly done covers of songs I rarely have heard of. Bleh.
