Forums - Gaming - Lizard Squad strikes again.......

was able to get on about 2 hours ago, logged in before I came to class.

Around the Network

This guys are racking up bad Karma points very quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if their computer screen explode on their faces.

Anyway, this is the problem with vermin like this. You squash one, but more will come out of the woodwork. When there's people enjoying themselves, there's always that guy who's miserable and want others to feel as miserable as him. That's the Lizardheads for you.

Sometimes I think they're just looking for regular outages and claiming it for them.

I guess its better to blame these guys than Destiny's shitty servers. Idk if its just me but I get randomly kicked out of games at least once a day.

Not just you, it happens to me as well. Sometimes a little more often.

Yeah, let us deal with the real terrorists and murderers later. Let's go after the guys who inconvenience a few people for some hours first!!

Did I say that we should put 100% our law enforcement efforts into going after DDoS attackers, hackers, and other assorted e-criminals? Nope. Nice attempt at a strawman, though. What I am saying is that we should throw the book at them, hard. Do we still not prosecute lesser crimes? We don't let shoplifters slide because bank robbers exist. All criminals are a drain on society and should be dealt with harshly. As far as I'm concerned, all these e-criminals should be punished not only through jail time and/or steep fines, but permanent revocation of any right to use a computer. How many millions of dollars are lost each year due to hacking, DDoS attacks, and proliferation of malicious software? It may not be a matter of if but when before people who shut down game servers decide to graduate to something bigger. Most career criminals start off with lesser crimes. That's why you don't ignore lesser criminals as a minor inconvenience. And some of the worst sorts of e-criminals, especially those who engage or threaten to engage in large-scale economic disruption for political reasons, could definitely be considered cyberterrorists. I wonder where those who are currently engaged in cyberattacks on Singapore started off at.

I'm totally on your side but as long as the world is unable to actually deal the proper way with big criminals there is no point for screaming at a certain kind of criminal. So demanding death to them is by extension to put them above other criminals we are not able to kill or sometimes aren't even allowed to wish death. A scream like this is also pointless because if we had a functioning judicial system it would be unnessecary as they would already be dealt with that precise way. So all you're doing is elevating their crime by singling them out rather than criticizing the whole weak system we have in place.
