Good reviews so far, of course Polygon is only 7 after they gave 6 to the first one.
Overall currently 27 positive reviews, 2 medium. Very good so far, especially considering reviews in general for this gen. Game deserves it!

Im just curious how does the game deserve it?

I played the first Horizon which was a ton of fun and to many others and I played the e3 demo at Gamescom and so could see the game repeats what made FH1 so fun so I think it deserves positive reviews.

Id prolly wait to really get my hands on a game before chucking out what it deserves and such. But i hope it does well and all parties enjoy it.

If the demo is any indication, it deserves very good scores.

I know you know but demos =/= finished product. I was really interested in Enslaved (Ninja theory game) by the trailer and demo i played. Bought it was a pretty big letdown. I know its a different genre/developer but point still stands. Cant really say something deserves something just because of a small glimpse of it.

Around the Network

Seems to be settling around 85 (currently at 86).

Really solid!

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Looking very good can't wait to play it. Just watched the IGN review really want play with that Land Rover Defender should be a ton of fun. Plus another new car I will try very early is the 1968 Lancia Fulvia since its not a barn find.

Good scores, still I'd like to hear Chris Hu's input on tthis, I remember having a pretty hilarious discussion about this topic with him a couple months ago.

Its off to a good start it will more or less end up where I though it would end up.  Already knew it would get a good score from IGN the guy that reviewed it actually played a lot of the game most of the lower scores are probablay from people that barely played it.

I just read the Eurogamer review, quite useless for what I wanted to know. All there is about the map is this:

The new setting - the southeastern corner of France and northwestern corner of Italy - isn't quite as grandiose or as varied as the first game's Colorado.

Kinda disappointed, my main problem with the first game was the small map and little variation. Seems the map and gameplay variety (for single player at least) are a common negative in other reviews. bah.

Anyway it should be fun to play when I get around to buying an XBox One. Or maybe I'll just get the 360 version, give that thing one more game to give it a warm sendoff :)

The IGN video talked about the size of the map its not as big as the one in TDU2 but there are a lot more events then in that game.

It was interesting to see a dedicated Xbox fan site (TotalXbox) complain about bad texture pop-in. I also never expected Arthur Microsoft Gies to give harsh ratings to it.

~85 is my guess.

Mid 80s, 84 is my guess, 86 max. It feels like reviewers are finally being a bit harsher, maybe one day we can make full use of the 10 point rating system.

I doubt there are more events, TDU2 pretty much included an expanded version of the first game as well and had all kinds of non racing events like car deliveries, taxi missions, license tests and lots of things to buy. The driving was lacking though, mainly because of the poorly constructed roads with angular transitions in height causing you to easily lose control on mountainous tracks.

Anyway in an open world game the map comes first for me, and I don't get the impression that's the case with FH2. I'm still excited to play it, yet it can wait until next year.

Well since I never played TDU2 I have no idea how many events it had but we already know that Horizon 2 will have 700 at launch and more will be added later.
