I'm too nice to kick him out of the game but I have considered it before because I have gotten complaints from a few people before. He seems to be doing it on accident though

Perhaps it's just me but I don't understand what's so hard about just checking your last vote.  I always do that in these games.  I never make another vote until I actually see the minimum time displayed on my last one.  That way, you eliminate all the guesswork.  You don't have to figure out what time it was when you last voted, if it was five minutes this way or that way, etc.

She's been here since July...

I think the limit should be how long the poster has been on the site. If it's just to keep alts away, then the rule should be that you can't vote unless you joined the thread before it was made, or at least a certain time before it was made.

Sorry, the rules are solid. I can't (won't) make an exception. I don't think she's an alt but still.

I agree that you shouldn't change the rules now that the game is underway, but I actually think Hylian makes a good point.  Having said that, using people's join date alone wouldn't prevent anyone from setting up alt accounts in advance and just letting them sit dormant until an elimination game comes along.

Perhaps a combination of both?  Having a minimum join date would prevent people from creating alts once a game has started, and having a minimum post count would ensure that it's an active account and hasn't just been set up in anticipation of such a game.

It's just a thought.  For the record, I agree that it's too late to change the rules for this particular thread.  Perhaps later ones, though.

As an aside, I have to say, it's kind of sad that we even have to worry about this.  If you're actually going to the trouble of cheating in these threads, I really think you need to re-examine your priorities.  It's just a silly forum game, people.  Don't take it so damned seriously. :-/

I usually do nowadays, but I was in a hurry to catch the bus.

Ok, that's fair enough.  To be clear, I wasn't criticizing you; I was just saying that's how I do it.  I've always thought it was a fairly obvious way to make sure you don't accidentally vote early.
