I never played the original but this is sure to be good news for those that did and enjoyed it.

"Last year, Eidos' Battlestations: Midway let gamers take tactical command of US Pacific forces in a campaign mode that followed World War II from Pearl Harbor in December of 1941 through the June 1942 Battle of Midway. The publisher is clearly ready to take gamers through the rest of the war, because today it announced Battlestations: Pacific for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Picking up where the last game left off, Battlestations: Pacific will again put players in charge of the Pacific theater of operations to take control of conflicts up through the battles for control of Okinawa in the dying days of World War II. However, Eidos is also giving players a chance to see the conflict from another point of view--and change history in the process--with two single-player campaigns, one American and one Japanese."

The focus is on vehicular combat and strategy, so it's not like this is another cookie-cutter FPS effort.

Definitely a game I'd be interested in, if I had the hardware for it. My favourite maps in BF1942 were the Pacific naval battles.

I only ever played the demo of the first one. It was really fun, but I was poor at the time so I didn't buy it lol.

 They have not a clue what they're talking about, but i suppose that's the way it goes for the blinded Sony Fanboys. They're brainwashed that 360 is a Shooter console, and they have no idea that it has triple number of other kind of games comparing toy ps3. They dont deservr to play such games even if they'are mediocre. Stick to your FF s**t and get out of this thread. My god! Bashing it without even knowing what they actually bash... Pity...

Actually, Midway was a game of high expectations, but ...something didn't work well. I don't know... I expect alot from Pacific.
