30k boost? These countries didn't have lifetime sales of 30k... how they even together can sell 30k

Come on. The Scandinavian countries together are more than a 30% of the population of the UK, and I doubt the number of units sold / capita is any less than the UK. The PS4 already sold a million units in the UK, so it stands to reason that it already sold several hundred thousand units in Scandinavia alone. Add in Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland and you got a market with roughly as many potential buyers as the UK.

X1 is not the PS4......ps4 outsells x1 5 - 6:1 in many of these places.

Sure. But 30k launch week with a market of 60 million potential buyers with fat wallets and another 130 million with thinner wallets isn't PS4 pace. Think about it. Launch week for the Xbox One with 190 million Europeans customers and it still got beat by the PS4 10k for Europe as a whole.

2 weeks ago:   - Some People defended the idea that WiiU will sell more this year than Xbox one
                           - Plenty  believed that Xone will not be topping the weekly charts any time soon
                           - Plenty believed in one of the 20-30 threads that Tier 2 countries will not create much of a boost..
                           - People were certain that Destiny will be ****ing amazing...

Bolded part is true though

So How Big of a Boost Will the Tier 2 Countries Provide Xbox One
5k-10k 167 49.55%
10k-15k 57 16.91%
15k-20k 26 7.72%
20k-25k 25 7.42%
25k+ 62 18.40%
Total: 337

Almost half of the VGchartz users predicted that the boost will be 10k or less...Less than 20%  were right...

The thread was about baseline.

Then we will never know I guess..

It's good to see a 5k difference can close a gap of 100k ...

The PS5 Exists.

Think about it too.

20k boost in 4 countries that didn't even have a stable local gaming market.

And about your 190 million Europeans customers... Brazil have this sames size of people, and it is in the TOP10 gaming market in the world... PS4/XB1 together didn't sold 30k at launch.

I guess we'll have to wait and see for possible adjustments.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Tier 2 launch put XBO over PS4. Makes sense I guess. Now we wait and see how it affects the baseline.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

This, especially since VGC numbers have always been iffy...

lets talk about european tier 2 countries,5th September: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, , Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland...in week that ends on 30th of august 15k,from 15k to 43k in the week  that ends on 6th of September ,so 28k boost...28k/13 countries =2.15k, how the hell xbone sold more than sells in Germany and France, the second and the third biggest european market, the majority of these tier 2 european countries are small markets!I know it s the opening week, but still i find it excessive...

I honestly don't think it'll do much.

PS4 sold like what, 700k at launch in Europe ? And now the baseline is around 50-60k.

So I really don't think 30k at launch in small markets will change the baseline much.
