PS3 overtracked? Le gaspe! =O

the japanese are not very brand loyal either(it took them what? 2 months to dump Nintendo for the PSX) so you won't the others esque strong sales on brand alone.

Ok when I read that it sounds to me like you're saying the reason the demand was met in one week was because it wasn't as big of a deal as people here thought.  Then when you say there is nothing over there right now I look over the released list and see DMC4, Assassins Creed, Disgaea 3, CoD4, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Ratchet & Clank, Oblivion, and quite a bit more. So why is it that people on this site love those games and think of them as more than 'nothing'.  

To be clear we are talking about hardware sales which means that people buying hardware won't have those games so they should still be providing appeal and incentive for new consumers if the games interest them. 

Now to be fair I'm fairly sure your comment was meant to be indicative of how the Japanese like different games and how that has to be taken into account..yes?  Well thats fine but at what point do we say the same thing about people here in the US where the situation has been about the same since launch with the exception of the past few weeks?   Why are some folks so ready to label the Japanese as having a different style or different taste but when it comes to the US it seems like folks think "its those damn dirty casuals again" rather than the accepting "difference of tastes".

On the last two points I bolded I just wanted to say that being the most expensive and the biggest is very rarely a good thing in electronics and its not just the Japanese who prefer their electronics to be affordable and reasonable in size. 

PS - For those who didn't notice my post is not meant as a slam on the PS3 but rather on the people who insist on keeping an elitist attitude about what games are "good" and "bad" and have an apparent double standard that allows them to dismiss the Japanese as having different taste but still gloating about their superiority over those dirty "casual" folks.  At least some of you are equal opportunity elitists and seem to hate on the Japanese as well~ 

That's rough, but still not as bad as 6-to-1 as it got to at one point last year. Hopefully it has sink as low as it can go.
