Of course AAA games are better. Also, Afghanistan's GDP is $18bn not $87m.

The main buisness of facebook or watsapp is not gaming, is social media, wich was understandable for facebook.
For a company who says is all about the games games games, they spend 2b on a mediocore games that everybody has and is for casuals mainly. This does not make sense. Thats 4 destinys already, wich dosent any bigger than that. This was the supidest investment ever and second was the 2b on the new controller, wich is the same thing as the 360. This is why the xbox division dosent profit.
Edit: forgot to include apple into the mix, its also not their main buissness to make and sell games.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I can't gaurantee that these chartz are correct I was searching for some that were comparing development cost.
Don't copy random editorials.
Imo no question that much money should be spread around on 20 AAA games, not everyone likes Minecraft anyway sure it's a massive hit but it's still a one trick pony and once that trick becomes old people want something else.
They spent $100 million for halo 4? I didnt know that. I think TLoU production cost were not half of halo 4 cost.

i think I remember reading that none of ND's games ever went past ~30-35M
and one of the Uncharteds was only ~20M, though i don't remember which one

Did some "wiki" research (so take it as you want) and it stated "At the Game Developers Conference in 2011 Yu Suzuki stated that the $70 million cost for the development of Shenmue was actually an embellishment and that it only cost $47 million to develop and market."
But that's still alot for a game released at that time in comparison as Halo and MGS2 came out later with less than a quarter of that development cost.
Pftch. AAA Games? Minecraft is an SSS game for sure! ;)
$45 million for katrina? it was $41 billion in insurance costs, total of $81 billion.
Most expensive natural diasters
Questionable on actual numbers.
