Forums - Gaming - How would you score Destiny so far?

I'm really enjoying it so far. It plays like a Mashup of Halo + Borderlands + COD. When you select a mission on a planet in the background people drop in and out without it impacting your mission. If you want to party up with people around you you can (so the objectives synch). The multi-player is good. Only criticism so far is that the planets can feel "dead" when you are travelling to the objective point. And everything is just 'smooth'

Its a mashup of all those games... yet still painfully dull. I'm kinda forcing myself to play and I hate to say that.

I'm leaning towards a 3/5 at the moment.

Are you guys let down by the game overall??... A lot of comments, even the positive ones, seem that way. I played the Alpha and the Beta to death and i'm pretty sure about my purchase, the game is waiting for me in my ps4 hard drive, work has kept me away from it until friday but, and This is my point, i know what i'm getting. At least in the beta the main missions were just a small part of the game, giving you purpose and some pretty cool scripted action secuences, but nothing more. What i really had fun with was the overall package: customization, exploration, looting, Pvp, ramdom public events, strikes, rpg elements, social interaction and for me at least, great production values all around. Combined with the main campaign i thought that even in beta form the game had a lot of replay value and content. I played that thing for Like a Week!!!!... I really liked how everything was linked to the same purpose: YOUR CHARACTER. For me that's the main thing about Destiny, much like Diablo, leveling up and creating your one of a kind killing machine to help or compete with others... I would like to know if the game disappoints in that sense because as repetitive as it was, the beta had lots of replay value. All action rpgs, shooters and MMOs are repetitive, you just want to continue fighting and exploring to level up, loot for better gear and fight stronger enemies. I Also want to know if you guys played the beta or are new to the game... I'll be waitingto read your opinions...Thanks.

Again sorry for my english... Getting better!!!... :)

This. It's definately a bargain bin game. It needs an ingame grimoire, not a bungie.net one, more mission variation and more frequent/better loot. I have found 2 chests so far and all they had in them was glimmer. The loot system was much better in the beta.

Also, the enemies with ?? instead of a level number shouldn't be immune when you shoot them. Even if it only does 1 damage when you shoot them, it's bettr than no damage at all and also really satisfying if you do manage to drop them. Have you ever played Borderlands 1/2 and gone up aginst someone with a red skull next to their info? The feeling of awesome when they finally die after countless bullets/grenades/turrets/phaselocks/whatever is better than actually beating the final boss.

7.5/10. I don't like it anywhere even close to as much as Borderlands 1 or 2.  I'm loving the co op, but PvP and playing it alone are both boring.  I could see the Borderlands pre-sequel and next PS4/XB1 Borderlands title destroying this.

Starts off really slow, because of the weak as fudge weapon with the ridiculous recoil, I was in an unpleasant 6/10 mood. Once i got a good gun with more damage and less recoil, and my grenade launcher and my sniper rifle (ooh baby) I went up to an 8/10. Pretty sure once I eventually make it to Venus I'll be overwhelmed and be up in the 9's, but avoid giving it a 10 as my tens are reserved for Rogue Galaxy 2 and Shenmue 3 :P

Thanks jlmurph!

They really should have just advertised Destiny as an MMO like they suggested when it was originally announced. Games like this are always better with other players, they tend to get old pretty quick solo (hell, even Diablo III gets old fast).

Tsk tsk, all that advertising hype. My condolences to those who fell for it. Hope Activi$ion collapses.

The advertising has been pretty accurate for it thus far (the TV advertising has been terrible though). Hype leading to disappointment always happens, I can't remember the last hyped game to live up to it -- I think it actually ruined Last of Us for me (Awesome beginning, then I kept falling asleep every 30 minutes or so trying to play it).
