If you still are unsure if your money is worth a purchase you can wait a few days.

Having said that I fully support and appreciate reviewers finally wising up and not reviewing games with such a strong online component before release. Anyone remember BF4? Yep, that's the reason why pre release reviews of online games are garbage.

Well the gaming news industry need day 1 reviews in order to bring in traffic to their sites. I think that for games with online components there simply need to be change to the process. Gaming sites should release day 1 previews and full review release when they have gotten the big picture and online been tested.

To simply disregard the need for day 1 reviews is not valid. On a friday night that I want to go see a movie at the theatre, I check out reviews to get an impression, see which movie spark my interest and know about dud that I should avoid.

And yet the gaming industry did fine long before Day 1 reviews ever existed.  Imagine that.

For a game as online centric as Destiny, it's really important to review that game after you can actually play the game online. Bungie was right to warn consumers about Day 1 reviews.

Normally I'd agree with you, but the fact that Destiny is a "shared world shooter" means that something essential would be lost without fully populated servers. In all other cases I completely agree: reviews are a necessary bridge between publisher and consumer, and should arrive in advance of each game. But with a massively multiplayer game like Destiny, early reviews might actually be premature. It's a difficult situation, but I don't see a solution that both honors the integrity of the game and protects the consumer. In this instance, fans will simply need to show a little self restraint and patience if they want to read reviews before purchasing the game.

Only reason anyone would put an embargo on reviews is because they fear the bottom line will be severely damaged by having people that play the game and review the game fairly before someone else. Not looking good for Destiny.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

MMO launches are usually shit so its probably gonna have a lower then expected score during launch days anyway

Completely disagree. If you were in mildly interested in this game you have would tried out the beta and made the decision by now. Plus, all of those gameplay footages are available around.

If you need people to hold your hand while you shop, by all means wait a few days.

Reviews themselves are a joke. I mean, do you really need someone to tell you if you're going to like something? I've read rave reviews for games and totally hated the game and vice versa. Are people going to cancel their Destiny pre-orders now that there are no day 1 reviews?

Reviews aren't made to tell you what to like or not. A well written review covers all aspects of the game and tell you what and how they are. The score at the end of a review is subjective. But the content covered in the review can give you a good idea whether or not the game is for you.

While no reviews on release day sucks, there's other sources of information. For instance, I've been watching Twitch streams of people playing the game. http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Destiny

That should help people on the fence decide if they want this game or not and like other people have said there's also the option of waiting a week or so before buying the game.

If the multitude of gameplay videos, alpha, beta, and previews aren't enough for you, then why would a review matter?
