Forums - Gaming - Bungie Warns Destiny Day-One Reviews Might Not Tell the Whole Story

Another FPS?? Booooooring

Hmmmm, I hope that doesn't mean to expect mild reviews for this game. I was expecting 90+ easily for this game.

That doesn't sound good :S

And seeing as those endgame raids are locked unless you happen to have a bunch of friends online willing to play Destiny at that exact moment (hint: most people don't), you really won't be able to appreciate the "long-run" that they want you to experience.

That being said, I'm still buying the game, because it looks fun for me. I could care less about reviews.

My sentiments exactly. I enjoyed the Beta. I have it pre-loaded and everything. Reviews won't change my enjoyment.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.

So under 80 then?

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The game will get like a 89 meta and everyone will go crazy over it and say it sucks. People will call review sites biased and/or Xbox fanboys.

Why would anyone assume bad scores, aside from wishful thinking?
The article explained everything well, and by Bungie's words, even if all reviews are 10/10 you should take them with a grain of salt.
I've already preloaded the game, so I won't even read the reviews, I'll judge it for myself. And from massive PS4 bundle preorders, it seems that more people put their faith in their own experience from alpha and beta, than in some random guy's opinion after 12 hours with the game.
I guess Bungie didn't think it was right to wine and dine reviewers at closed review parties several times, to entice them to hype up the game repeateadly.

And those still sceptical, just wait a week or a month, the game is not going away soon.

You know, reviewers base their reviews on their own experiences, which means that I generally buy games based on my gut feeling.

And this gut is telling me that Destiny is going to be good.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Around there, I'd wager, if the old hints and concerns of sparsity of actual content pans out when the game releases. We've been getting way too many reassurances that there's more than people found in the big expanses of the public maps.

This almost feels like the last few MMO launches lol.

Day one reviews of MMOs in general are also outdated after a year.

I tought they would at least mention that.

Good Guy Bungie reminding us that pre release online game reviews are garbage and that proper reviews are post release.

But it's really hard for actually good reviewers to not review pre release because of the temptation of all the clicks.
