Forums - Gaming - Minecraft PS4/XB1 doesnt deserve high scores

IGN have already stamped a 97 on it, completely ignoring the fact this provides barely any improvement feature wise over its 10x less power previous gen alliances.

I get that 4J are working on 5 platforms at once, but for a game that sells at a rate equivilant to weed, certain expectations are required of them.

Negative points -

-No hosted servers or lobbies
-No public create servers
-Need to bring on minecraft PC's activities like Hunger games mods to consoles

I was building with a friend, I had to leave, he couldn't continue building since it was my world. This is ridiculous and completely counter productive to the whole point of the game, creating together, working together on one world is fun but shouldn't require the host to always be on to allow friends to drop in and out.

Considering the PS4/XB1 versions are only really performance/technical improvements over PS360 versions, a 97 is unwarranted. It's too high for what is ultimately a mediocre upgrade of a good game.

Game is more of a 6 for me right now. Isn't much of an upgrade, no character create?!

Suggestions:

+Basic Character creator
+Host or allow us to host public lobbies for creation and to mess around
+Add matchmaking events from mods on PC version like hunger games and the many others
+Allow you to save a world into the cloud, and set moderators for that world that can access the latest build of it, so it can constantly be worked on without the main host.

Not too much to ask for a game thats been out around 2ish years

The game will be continuously updated and improved overtime and his the most beloved game of last-gen. In order for Minecraft to get rave reviews all it needed to do was release on PS4 and Xbox One. Players have been waiting for this title.... my nephews have been waiting for this day ever since they got the PS4. Younger generation love this game and can't get enough of it.

Most of the game that get port on WiiU retain the same score that was given to them 6 month to 1 years earlier.

This game for fan of the series will only get better with time has the developer have more time to fix problem and bring in new content. Minecraft was probably not ready for console release on PS4 and Xbox One but since it can be patch and update why not release something now that people just can't wait to get their hands on.

How about an infinite world? I've heard that mobile can handle it, but PlayStation 4 and Xbox One apparently can't. That's just a joke if you'd ask me...
Also, there should be free texture packs and skin support. Everyone with a tool like paint on their PC can modify any texture or skin like they wish, yet console players are stuck with limited support and it's paid only.

It's laggy on xbox one. And the map takes forever to load, the draw distance is broken and remains that way for a long period of time, usually 30 minutes or so. I am not experiencing this on ps4.

I'm pretty sure they will fix that with an update, but it's still annoying.

Redstone is buggy as hell on both versions. Also, it's still way behind the pc version on redstone blocks/tools.

Yea, the consoles act as the servers, so when you shut off your console friends can no longer access that map. It's one of the reasons I stopped doing co op builds on consoles. I don't play the pc version much though, I prefer the console versions.

Edit: Here's an example of the broken draw distance bug I am experiencing on XBO:

I agree for mod supported games, PC is the best way to play, however even if not at the latest update, minecraft on console is still a pretty stable and equally fun game, especially for those who don't really care about mods when they do play these games on pc, but still, 4j is as incompetant as anything

Infinite worlds don't bother me too much, but they should do a littlebigplanet 3 kinda thing where you can stitch worlds together, say you've explored every cave and nook and cranny of the map.

It should be when you enter the boundary of the console world, it asks you do you want to load up a new map, takes a couple of seconds and then you're in, so the prev world and the one you're in now is still accessible.

I also agree, it's bullshit about costumes being paid. Either add in a paint editor for like 3 dollars into the consoles and make it like UGC, or $3-4ish costumes season pass for all costumes 4J ever make.
