Interesting, this week Wii UK sales wasn`t very impressive, compared to ps3. Only 8k more. Looks like 6 days availability of Wii on amazon doesn`t make very big difference. =)

Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.
1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far
^wow just 51 more weeks and it will be one year.... still outselling PS3 before WiiFit, Smash, and MKWii... PS3 has had DMC, BP, Turok, and what else since then.

Amazon must be playing with their supply again, there's no way they're getting a Wii truck every 15 minutes :P
Regarding sales for the week, it looks like it proved my theory.Scalping isn't profitable anymore, but the Wii still sells great. The Wii outsold the PS3 by 40%.

Today morning was the first time in 7 days when there was no stock but it came back in stock by noon (as it always does on Tuesdays). Maybe these are signs on things to come (i.e. no more supply issues until the holiday period)

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

i'll do my best with what i've got.. babelfish isn't being too helpful.. my main question, among a series of others is, how did you manage to string Amazon UK being in stock to a possibility of USA having met demand
More importantly.. how could you wonder if USA has met demand, when every alternating week, the sales go 60,000ish -> 150,000ish -> 60,000ish -> 150,000ish... i can't think of any explanation for a pattern like that outside of it not meeting demand yet, but perhaps you could shed some light on this for me

The US doesn't have met demand. Europe seems to have. There are enough Wiis standing around in our stores. I would think UK was the last country to get this situation. (Nintendo isn't stupid: american dollar is not valuable anymore 
)
Yea, like Kyros and Crazzyman said, the wii fad is over now, you can go in any store, you will see a pile of 200-400 Wii's sitting on shelves.
It look like last weeks numbers were the last Wii's sold, expect wii sales to drop abismally, next week the fad will be over in america.
