Well, I can't go against it because it did happen, but to me TP was always a GameCube game ported to the Wii... even with the few days separating their launch (in Japan it was the same day actually).
The game was build to the GC and was delayed because of the Wii launch... It would count to me as a 6th gen Ninty exclusive, not a 7th gen one... but that's my way to see it

I think either it should count (and perhaps REmake for wii should too), or it shouldn't and then the The Last of Us remaster shouldn't either.

It also had a different control scheme, for Wii you had to use motion controls.

I think you're mixing up the graphs. TP is included in the console exclusive graph (TLOU:R is included in the 8th gen version), but is excluded from the true exclusive graph (since there is a 6th gen version). Once i get round to making a "true" exclusive graph for the 8th gen systems, TLOU:R will be excluded for the same reason TP was.

The prime trilogy isn't included since 2 of the titles are on the GC. The only one truly exclusive to the Wii was Prime 3, which already has a spot. If P3 had never been released outside of that collection (similar to how Bayo 2 is being bundled with Bayo 1) then i'd included it on a technicality.

In regards to TP, as the graph says "Exclusive is defined here as a title on no other platform, including handhelds, PC and Mobile. 8th gen systems are (for now) ignored." The only current exception is 8th gen versions. TP is on the GC, which is ain't an 8th gen system :p

The only reason I wonder about the Prime Trilogy is because it's not just an HD port, they rebuilt the game controls giving the games distinctly different ways of being played from their OG. I can understand it either way, I was just being curious to try and figure out where the lines are being drawn on what is defined as passable on "exclusive" and what is not.

I can understand it either way, I was just being curious to try and figure out where the lines are being drawn on what is defined as passable on "exclusive" and what is not as at current the definitions seem rather blurred to me.

I can see where you're coming from, and i do half agree, the issue is that including stuff on that basis opens one hell of a floodgate. Stuff like RE5 or Skyrim that have either PSMove or Kinect compatibility would technically become true exclusives. So would console exclusive PC ports like TW2 or L4D/L4D2.

The only situation a previous gen title can be listed is if it's a 100% full remake like Halo Ani or Pokemon Omega (once i get round to making the handheld list).

I'll work on making the definitions more solid (i think i just need to include stuff like full remakes being valid).

Great thread Zekkyou! Looking forward to come back to this during the gen ;)

Great work, keep it up!

Note: PvZ Garden Warfare isn't Xbox exclusive anymore.

I can see the stance of not wanting to open the floodgates. We'd have to start throwing in a lot of things that aren't really exclusive unless we start going into lawyer-level definitions of what is and is not exclusive. Which is a pointless and frustrating endevour!

I'm fine as definitions are was just trying to see where the line was being drawn in your head for personal clarity.

Glad you understand. Sorry if i didn't make things clear enough in the OT, i'll work on it tomorrow ^^

If you're ever curious about something else then feel free to ask.

Thanks! :)

And nice catch, i forgot the PS4 version is out now. I'll update it soon (have added it to the stuff to fix list for now).

Update (08/09/2014):

- PvZ removed from X1 console exclusive list and graph (the PS4 version is out).
- Added another note under the 7th gen "true" exclusive graph.

Nice thread.
Interesting that PS3 had the most top rated exclusives.

I only just noticed this comment was here ._.

Anyway, a lot of it can be thanked on the PS3's later years. By the end of 2010 (for console exclusives) the PS3 had 43 75+ titles, the Wii 60 and the 360 45 (37 without 2005). The Wii was the rather obvious winner, thanks primarily to the large support boost its sales generated for it, while the PS3/360 were relatively close to each other.

2011 onwards is when the PS3 pulled ahead.
