HW wise
Unhappily we don't have that much data yet. Even among the games that did came out this year, there was some i could not count for some reason (i explain better at the end).
There are 3 games that we can assume affected the sales without major interferences, here they are.
Tomb Raider:DE
- PS4
9.5k additional units or 6%
-XONE (still $500)
2k additional units or 2%
Gap: 7.5k units in favor of PS4
Watch Dogs
- PS4
70.5k additional units or 53%
-XONE (still $500)
9.5k additional units or 27%
Gap: 61k units in favor of PS4
Diablo 3
- PS4
13.3k additional units or 9%
-XONE (Kinectless)
5.3k additional units or 11%
Gap: 8k units in favor of PS4
---Pre Orders USA---
Watch Dogs Preorder (The week before)
PS4 = 415k
XOne = 270k
Destiny Pre-Order
PS4 = 874k
XOne = 710k
Games that were not included and reasons:
AC:IV / COD:Ghost - Launch period, too inflated.
Rayman Legends - Sold poorly and was released during PS4 Japan launch.
Thief - Week after PS4 Japan Launch, both consoles sold less (Even XOne for some reason, despite PvZ release)
Ground Zero - Infamous release week. PS4 had a huge boost while XOne actually decreased
