For those people that think I can't tell the difference in resolutions I could but not too much and the average consumer doesn't know anything about hd. Most people buy hdtvs for their size.

oh you can tell the difference but the average consumer is blind? What differentiates you from them?

I guess when you actually look for something to be different you could see it different. My brother knows nothing about hd and I had a game in 480p then had the same game in 720p and asked if he knew a difference in picture and he said that it looked the same even though I could see a difference( very little though).

I just want to make it clear that there are reasons not to port a game. I just don't find the reasons given here against the Wii legitimate, at least not in the blanket terms being used.

except it won't be a port, aleast in the conventioal way. No one has answered my question here. Why won't capcom port DMC4 or Lost planet to the Wii when they are all too eager to port RE4, RE0, and Okami instead?

Let me tell you RE4, Okami and RE0 those games were based on last generation of graphics and those games could be easiely ported and could save time and money. The games that are mentioned DMC 4 and Lost Planet are not easiely ported and it would need extreme reworking in physics and etc. To be honest Wii is no a Ps3 so it cannot produce those games. Of course they could do it, nothing stops them but you may call Capcom kinda lazy for not wanting to rework everything. Maybe if wii was more to the level of Ps3 and Xbox then you would see it for sure. Let me tell you don't want Lost planet. There's my answer.

Exactly, and that's my point-so I don't why LordTheNightKnight keeps pushing this. Capcom simply can't just port the game. They have to rework the game. Whether or not they decide it's worth it or not-it's up to them, not to us.

I didn't claim they could "just port" it. I know things would have to be redone. My dispute is the assumption that the work would always be too much to be worth it. For some small developers, it would be, but Capcom is not a small developer.

But as I said, that's not for us to decide, it's Capcom's decision and they apparently don't think it's worth it.

You misread what I wrote. I wasn't duscussing DMC4 specifically. I was discussing the blanket assumption for any such game.

And it was the game's producer who stated that not an exec at Capcom. They may decide not to, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

Any game is possible on the Wii. I thought that was settle. Hey, they made CoD4 for the DS but does that mean you'll get the same experience on the handheld as the console versions? Secondly, why are you writing off the producer's statement? He produced a couple of games for the GCN, including RE4. His words wouldn't carry weight? Look at what Jade Raymond said about a Wii version for Assassin's Creed? Is Ubisoft making a Wii version of AC? Now, where was I? Capcom took the time to port Lost Planet to the PS3 after year of release on the 360. I personally thought that was unnecessary and would be unsuccessful but they did it anyways as well making a PC version, but there's no Wii version. Based on their actions, it's clearly obvious there won't be a Wii version of DMC4. Who actually expected one in the first place? The Wii is clearly leading in console sales but Capcom hasn't even announced RE5 Wii yet. Hell, the reason why they decided to move MH3 to the Wii was not because they thought it would bring more sales but because a PS3 version was too expensive. Now, we see this pattern of games for the PS3/360/PC but the Wii version is always left out from Western devs as well. It's not a coincidence because any Wii version is basically like an exclusive unless it gets share with the PS2. Ghostbusters is another example. 360/PS3 gets the main version, Wii and PS2 shares the secondary, cartoony version. The Wii is going to get its own share of games but be realistic-publishers aren't going to make Wii versions of games designed for the PS3/360/PC. You're not going to get the same or a "little downgrade" experience no matter how hard they try to "port" it. I thought what I'm saying here is pretty obvious

Most people don't know what HD is like my wife for example yet she can clearly see the difference between Blu-ray vs upscaled DVD. It's like saying there is little difference in watching something on a 42" TV compared to a 19" TV and say you can't tell the difference.

There is a difference between not wanting to a unable to. ANY game on the 360/ps3 can be ported over to the wii. I'm thinking Mario Galaxy barely used 20% of the wii's power. Its possible. They just don't want to(but that's like saying they don't want money). They are just too lazy, and don't want to do any extra work. Why don't they just make a PS3/360 to wii converter, and that will be the end of the argument.

Plus, wouldn't it be possible to run SFIV in 720p on the wii? I mean, just prerender the backgrounds and then it'll be fine(cause fighting games usually don't have high technical specifications) cause the wii can do the characters fine in 720p.

I agree that the wii could run games in 720p (pc games have been running in higher resolution for many years now) as well as PS3/360 could run all their games at 1080p on a 16:9 format at 60fps. The trick is to do this without the graphics look very dated as if it could run on a 8 year old PC.

totalwar23, I wasn't arguing that the game would come to the Wii. I was just debunking the reasons others claimed it couldn't.

Here ya go:

and those are just examples. Im sure more will be coming, and im not surprised if RE5 is one of them.

You're an idiot do you even know what a port is?  I'm sure you think Perfect Dark was ported form the N64 to the gameboy color too huh?  THE WII GAME WILL LOOK AND PLAY COMPLETLY DIFFERENT FROM THE XBOX 360 AND PS3 VERSIONS THUS THEY ARE NOT PORTS.

Fail. The N64 is a 3D gaming system. The GBC is not. The Wii, 360, and PS3 are 3D gaming systems, with high polygon counts, texturing, and mapping. The Wii may not be as high, but to claim it can't even pull off similar games as the stronger systems is an outright lie.

@fazz. I forgot about Table Tennis.
