Forums - Gaming - Square Enix Wants to Localize Dragon Quest VII and X but Can't

That's...a lot of HD games.

I prefer if they create new games, something like... Parasite eve 3 ?

A new saga frontier ? Fftactics ?New ip like the world end with you ? VALKYRIE PROFILE 3 ???

Damn.

So, PR spin for what amounts to a big F U?

Seriously, translations aren't THAT godamn hard, SE...

For Square Enix ANYTHING is hard, including translations and making good games!

Since Nintendo of Europe fired it's translation staff, in the next years we will not see any new JRPG coming to the west, maybe not even Xenoblade X. Nintendo of Europe just does not have the resources anymore and Nintendo of America hates JRPGs.

So the only chance to see the DQ and DQM games in the west would be through a kickstarter campaign or by cooperating with Sega / Atlus.

Or with Sony... If you look at the treatment Vita has been getting as of late, SE should talk to them.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Guys, it's hard for these little startup companies to translate a bunch of text, better let someone bigger like XSEED or someone do this.

Whatever. What I want from SE is stuff from this list:

- FF XV
- FF XII HD Vita (FF IX, VIII and VII would also be great - on Vita obviously!)
- DQ VIII HD Vita
- FF Type-0 Vita (and no remote play from PS4 shit excuses!)
- Crisis Core HD and Dirge of Cerberus HD Vita
- Kindgom Hearts 1.5 HD and 2.5 HD on Vita
- Xenogears HD Vita
- Xenosaga I, II, III HD Vita
- Super Mario RPG Wii U

Whenever they release something from this list - they have my money day 1. But my hopes aren't that high, I mean - most this stuff requires HD remasters and if they are too lazy to even translate how can I expect them to make a remake...

Errr... i would love Xenogears HD, as unfeasable as that might be, but Square does not own the rights for Xenosaga and both are quite unlikely unless they are Nintendo only releases since Monolith the developer belongs to Nintendo now.

I guess in theory square could still make Xenogears HD and release it on other consoles, as could Namco with Xenosaga, but a different team would have to handle the process from scratch. Sounds troublesome. Xenogears seems more possible, if i didnt have zero faith in square. Neither company probably has any intention of continuing the respective franchises without Monolith, so chances are it wont happen. Sorry. :( Best get Xenoblade on the new 3DS or Xenoblade X on Wii U for your Xeno fix.

Makes sense. They are Square Enix so it would probably take them like 20 years to do it, not really worth it by then.

BUT! They could use the archaic wording (language will change in 20 years) and use it for the Nintendo 3DHTs (3D holographic tripple sceen) or whatever. I mean if SquareEnix would have translated the DQVII when it was no there would be no debate about releasing it in the west now because it would already have been translated.
