Thanks BlowoverKing exactly what I was looking for :)

Also is that Sword Art Online, like an MMO? Is it like an Online game?

Nope it's singe payer. It's called SAO because the setting is in an MMO-ish world.

I haven't actually played it but heard good things about it.

Speaking of vita rpg's does anyone know if we have a western date for over my dead body yet?

This is quite possibly the worst reason I've read for not being interested in this game.

Why should I support a game like this that has nearly always had the option for English dub? It's just a lazy port job; therefore I'm not supporting it.

Lazy port has nothing to do with a dub.

And the game wouldn't even come to west, but somehow it was the most voted in a poll. The vita isn't a very profitable platform so developers have to reduce the costs as much as possible. You don't need to support it, but soon it will be like the PSP that not even a big game like FF Type-0 could sell enough to justify a localization.

You say you are about options, but this were the ones bandai namco had:

1- not bringing the game over
2- bringing it without a dub

I can see your prefer the first one.

Sega had the same option with Yakuza, they released Yakuza 3, 4 and Dead Souls with japanese audio only even though they had released the first 2 with english dub. After that, they gave up.

Thanks OP I needed a thread like that.
I was so down for the lack of JRPG that I was replaying Valkyrie Profile Lenneth.
I will check some of those games out

Thanks guys for the suggestions!
Question! Was thinking of picking up Disgaea 4 for the Vita, but I'm not sure if I should get 3 first? Are the stories really connected; do I need to play 3 in order to play 4? I mean I don't mind getting 3 and if I like it, I'll get 4.

Thanks!

The story is marginally connected at best, you'll be fine.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Natural Doctrine is out later this month too if you're a sadist.

Persona 4: The Golden is choice number 1 from me. Ys was also a very nice surprise (had never played one before).

It's funny how the no gaemz portable has such a raft of quality RPGs.

As for Tales and the lack of dubbing, I know I'm more old school, but for the most part, I think (generally pretty awful) English dubbing has really killed the atmosphere in RPGs. I preferred the silence apart from maybe a clicking sound for the writing appearing that most 90s RPGs offered.

That said, Persona 4's dub is pretty much the best I've ever heard.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

It might be, but it's sad how in 2014 while nearly every Tales game that has come to NA they all had English dub. Why should I support a game like this that has nearly always had the option for English dub? It's just a lazy port job; therefore I'm not supporting it. Take it how you may.

Edit: while probably not all of them have had the dubbed treatment, for the most part they have when localized.

Yeah, the english dubs are pretty bad. I don't see why they can't just keep in the japnese voices and enable subtitles as an option :/
