Forums - Politics Discussion - Religious Children Have Difficulty Distinguishing Fact From Fiction

Back in your parent's day was probably WW2 lol. I don't know what your parents have said, but people are going to have different opinions on the best and worst times. I think your parents might be reinforcing the "back in my day...!" stereotype :P

Before Jews and Israelites, before the Old Testament was even written, people in believed in different gods. I don't believe they were all destroyed. I mean even these days, putting the Abrahamic religions aside, there are over a billion Hindus which worship different gods and they seem pretty OK.

I meant someone other than Saul. I'm sure someone would've listened.

Let's say God has revealed himself. He hasn't done it in the best way. There are about 2.2 billion Christians, which is a large number, but a far cry from the 7 billion+ people worldwide. If God is omnipotent and omniscient, I think he can find the best way to reveal himself while convincing at least half of the world population to believe in him and Jesus Christ.

This'll probably be my last response to you since I'm not interested in continuing this discussion much longer. Good day sir.

:D
They were actually born after that.
It`s not just that, it`s something that you witness when you meet people of their age and even older. You see something in them that kids today just don´t have. They were simple folks.

I don`t think that because you are not a Christian that you will automatically go to hell. A lot of people don`t even know about Him, others without being of this or that religion, do follow what He is without rejecting the Christian God. It`s a very complicated issue, one that only God knows the answer too.
It`s not as simple as presenting something to someone and voilá! People don`t work that way. That`s why that even Jesus time, despite being there with Him there were those who just ignored them for whatever reason.

Someone else? God has a plan for everyone. Saul was their ruler and as such, he was the one responsible for the sake of his people. You could say that God used that failure to fulfill His will in another way.

Good day, Soriku! :)

All I got from this is that secular kids are boring and have little imagination.

There's a very good chance many Japanese developers such as Shigeru Miyamoto are not religious, would you say they have "little imagination?"

Exactly. I grew up without religion, but that never stopped me from being imaginative.

As I posted above, I never said that secular kids don't have imaginations, I simply said that after reading the article, all I really got from it was that secular kids have little imaginations.    It was meant to be a joke.  Clearly it went right over your head:P

Ah so it turns out you acutally didn't read the article and instead base your original post on false assumptions and perhaps bias, next time, take your own advice. Also http://www.pitzer.edu/academics/faculty/zuckerman/Ath-Chap-under-7000.pdf , page 11 is what you're looking for.

Also if it's meant to be a joke, then your response should not have been so hostile.

Sorry bro, but if you are gonna be hostile towards another user, then expect hostility in return.  Even now you are making false accusation and assumptions.  In the future, treat others with respect and you will receive it in return.

This thread has run its course and the topic of discussion has shifted away from the OP (which isn't a bad thing mind you, some decent discussion in here :))

If you want to continue talking about theology/religious worldviews/ect. then feel free to make a thread about it.

Locking.
