Forums - Nintendo - Youkai Watch 2 Weekly Sales Increase......?

Okay, so this week Youkai Watch 2 sold 131K units.  Last week, it sold 123K.  We've seen the original have incredible legs, so I was expecting only a small weekly decline, but an increase when it has only been out for 6 weeks?!  It didn't get released in another region, it's not holiday season (unless there is a gift giving Japanese holiday I don't know about), so what is it?  I know 8K is nothing, but for it to increase in its sixth week, when it should be quickly decreasing baffles me.  It's strange, because usually Japan sales are more frontloaded.  Also, this week, Youkai Watch 2 topped Titanfall on the Xbone.

Yes, the Obon holiday was in the middle of August.

Lots of children travel to their grandparents' place with their parents, and they need something to play. Or they get money from the grandparents and buy games with that.

Even here in the middle of nowhere the adoption rate of this game is crazy!

And there's so much merchandize it's unbelievable. You can't go anywhere without seeing Youkai Watch goods.

As stated per Boutros, Obon. Funnily enough, it's the 15 august, like I-don't-remember-wich christian holyday.

It's pretty much like our Halloween, All saints day and all souls day. It's translated as part of the "ghost festival", wich is fun when talking about youkai watch sales.
