 For real.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

:p

I actually give the dev Kudo's :P He's a developer for god's sake not the president xD He's a normal person like the most of us and this person is clearly not his boss. If I owned a store, and some idiot outside stands there shouting about how terrible my wares are, I'd tell him to go stick something pretty up his ass and get the hell on out of there :P

I though it was a good response and it certainly shed's light on the whole E3 incident.

A dev responding to a post about his project in an Internet forum is nuts in the extreme. What did he hope to accomplish? Did he really think that he could convince people of his position?

I can understand a publisher or dev responding to an article on a magazine publisher's site or to an article in a magazine, but to do so in an online forum is like pulling a gun in a police bar.

Exactly. Nothing good ever comes of it. Be a professional and just let it slide off your back.

This was posted in the "Ask the Devs" section of the Official Playstation Forums. You know that right?

I didn't realize that until after I posted. That puts it in a different light.

@Crumas: Um...it's the "Ask the Dev" thread in the Killzone 2 section of the official PlayStation forums. E0N is supposed to keep track of questions posted in the thread, and respond in kind. Usually with a "No Comment." :P

The idiot he responded to shouldn't have posted anything, let alone a post specifically saying that GG "failed" simply because Eight Days looks better. Here's the post:

CowboyJunkie wrote:

Well...I think Killzone lost the battle for best PS3 upcoming game. "Eight Days" won!

http://www.ps3informer.com/playstation-3/news/intel-8-days-looks-
better-than-killzone-2-will-be-awesome-008730.php

And it's funny to say that there's no HYPE over Killzone 2. Since the FALSE E3 2005 trailer, there's a hype...and now, when everybody knows Killzone 2 WON'T get the level of E3 2005 trailer, so the devs say "THERE'S NO HYPE OVER KILLZONE 2, KILLZONE 2 WILL BE A GOOD GAME , AS MANY OTHERS". It's more comfortable to think like that and that is a way to answer the "failure" of the final product, (in comparison with E3 trailer, about being the defitinive game pf PS3).

Shame.

I understand the temptation, but did he really think someone willing to slam the game that way would respond to logic?  I think he was just fed up the crappy comments and lost his cool, detached demeaner.  Unfortunate.
