As is my understanding it depends entirely upon the reasoning for the lock (which the Mod will indicate when the lock takes place).  Generally speaking, mods lock threads for a couple reasons, it's a troll thread, the rhetoric is becoming unreasonable/abusive, or the OP posts something for discussion then leaves the thread and doesn't engage in said discussion (point trolling).   That having been said, if you open a thread just to target another user to laugh at something they've said in the past...well, you're blatantly going after someone which is against forum rules.  Sure, we'll revive old threads with amusing predictions, but creating a thread solely for the purpose of dogpiling...well, it should be obvious why that's against forum rules.  It doesn't foster a very friendly forum.

Sure, there've been numerous statements that've been blatantly absurd at the time, or in retrospect, and some of those have turned into longtime jokes (95% certain that PS4 is outselling due to price, and Leading Globally in the US come to mind), but nobody's opened thread specifically to make fun of those two individuals, for those statements.

I still can't get over how bad MS got smashed this gen. I never expected them to get smashed like this. Even when they were getting smashed you saw a small glimpse of hope during the last holiday season. That's pretty much been forgotten at this point.

He perfectly knew about PS4 dominating this Generation, as all the other members.

He started this Thread to become Legendary, and to have many posts in his Thread.   Simple as that.  18 pages of NOTHING.
