They DDoS'd both Sony and Microsoft. That has nothing to do with security.

While I agree that improvements to their infastructure can and should still be made, I don't think you can compare the two without knowing the amount of DDos traffic being directed at each service. For all we know PSN could have been receiving the majoirty of the attack, while XBL could have only received a fraction of the traffic.

PSN used to be free and you get what you pay for. I guess the only thing they changed for the PS4 is the price.

gah! No-one were hacked! Learn the differencebetween DDoS and hacking. DDoS has nothing to do with security at all, so what I learned is that OP just grabbed this chance to downplay Sony. Everyone can fall for a DDoS if it's big enough.

It went down and back in just minutes during the Wii era. Nothing worthy or so for the hackers, I remember.

One thing that people should learn from this is that the gaming community should be united in these situations where it is attacked in this manner. I would think that the companies involved will exchange information on how to stop and catch these criminals as it affects us all.

I don't care if PSN competes with XBL or not, i can't play Sony games on XBL, therefore the choice is easy.

So who told me that no fanboys would use this DDOS thing to put the blame on Sony already ?
