GTA = Fad

if you haven't played them you have not missed much. I spent maybe 10-15 hours on it exporing the city and such, it was fun for a while then got really boring really fast. It makes a great rental.

 r u serious? the first gta came out in 97... thats one hell long fad...

All the GTA are the same, you have not missed much, this game is a lot casual.

Trust me, you're not missing much ;)

GTA and other sandbox games are great because they allow you to let loose your sociopathic side without repercussion.

No rules, do whatever the hell you want, be as nice or as evil as you want. There's a lot of fun to be had there.

 Personally I agree with Samuel here, but of course it depends on your taste.  It's got good sandbox gameplay.  And I love a good sandbox game.  But, if you are like me, and find it completely undesirable to pull people out of their cars to steal them, and beat up old ladies, and pretend to be part of the low life criminal element, then you will not care for these games.

Not that I have a problem with people enjoying the escape into this sort of reality, I just don't care for it in the least, myself.

GTA games are big because people play them for a bit and never beat them. I know like 100 people with GTA 3,VC and SA and maybe 3 have beat any of those games.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

?!

You have a PC, don't you?  I thought the PC versions of GTA3 and GTA:VC were awesome.  They don't require uber tech specs, and you can probably find copies of those games for cheap nowadays.

Put down thy Wiimote and pick up thy Mouse+KB.

Yeah the PC versions are much better than the console ones... Driving can be a bit better on a console, but the rest is much better

unfortunately my laptop cannot run GTA3 very well, and I am not buying VC only to find it needs more power than GTA3, and therefore more than my laptop can give.

GTA wasn't fun to me at all, I don't like point A to point B games by any means I like a little extra thrown in but then you get TOO spread out and its no fun either, to me its a game that tries to be a jack of al trades sometimes and is a master of none. It's kinda like the Sims to me with violence you can do so much and it wastes time but your heart isn't into it, so not much reason to "finish" the game.
