Have you ever played Battlefield, Madden, FIFA or some other games? You probably registered then and forgot, as EA links your gamertag to the Origin account, so it doesn't ask you every time.

Just get the account it's worth it especially since they give you a ton of free games. I got dead space and battelfield 3. I think for now it is acceptable unless they start charging you on top pf PS+.

you have to make one, but it doesn´t make any problems on consoles, not like u-play,
ea also has sometimes free pc-games on origins, so it´s not that bad
