You only need PS+ for the Crucible and Strikes. Exploration and story missions do not require PS+ to play (at least thats how it was in the beta)

Really? From what Bungie has been spouting, it's online only, a glorified MMO. I mean I understand if Strikes and Crucible is online, you play with people. But the main story they said you had to be online to play, the Beta might have just been free access as they wanted everyone to have a go. But if I get the main game will I require to pay PS+ to play online when I'm only playing the campaign (even if it's required I'm online during it)?
This is a very confusing thing, they could have made it so much simpler.

In Beta, it was clear for which parts of the game you need PS+, when you would hover over the mission, it would explicitly say "PS+ required". Story missions and other stuff was available for free.
I guess it is similar to FIFA. Ultimate Team is online-only, you need to be connected at all time, but you can use it without subscription, you're only locked out of online matches...
Doesn't surprise me that it's been cut in price. Bound to happen sooner or later.

I've been looking around, it seems without PS+ all you can do is play the story and explore. However there are mixed messages so I'm not sure about that.

Yeah this is what I thought and I can't see why they'd change that for the full release but it needs double checking

How very confusing, but thanks. They really should tell people this mind you. I mean when Sony says "You need PS+ to play online multiplayer." and then Bungie say "You need to be online at all times." Many people would just assume you need PS+.
Why companies can't just tell you what is required I don't know. I do wonder who online exploration would work, I mean, like those random events, would I go up to them and suddenly get a warning saying I have to have PS+? Yet they are just on the main map while I'm jetting about on my hover bike not a Strike or Crucible.

If PS4 production costs have come down so that the launch price is not slightly profitable is means Sony can afford to offer some special bundles in advance of an official price cut, probably late next year.

It seems amazon's £329 price tag may have been a mistake. They have cut the standard PS4 to £329 now though
