Wow, has this joke been made yet? I'm kinda surprised I haven't read it yet. |
I don't know but it's honestly the first thing that popped into my head when I read the OP. I think I might have been hungry at the time.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
At least Phil Fish deleted his Twitter again.. so we gained a lot from this..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misandry In The Myth of Male Power, Dr. Farrell argues that patriarchal societies do not make rules to benefit men at the expense of women. Farrell cites many examples to the contrary, such as male-only draft registration not benefiting men at the expense of women; or men constituting 93% of workplace deaths; or being expected to risk sexual rejection, pay on dates, and buy women diamonds. According to Farrel, once married, rules made by men are more likely to lead to men losing children and their home after divorce—what he cites as another example of male disposability. Farrell contends that nothing is more telling about who has benefited from "men's rules" than life expectancy and suicide rates—and men lose in both of these categories. |
I'm happy that there are people out there who can coolly state the truth. Truth this is.
Solution? Be a good, strong man and never bow to this shit.

that is a female developer talking about her relationship with zoe quinn
the thing is i think a lot of people are missing the serious implications of this even going beyond journalistic integrity
basically what happened throughout this whole debacle was that she waved the "i'm a poor victimised woman being mistreated by misogynists" flag and simply because of that you see that any kind of critical discourse about her actions was bascially shut down ( even here ) on certain websites and that in itself is very telling to me about the road that society is going down
edit: now bear in mind that i'm not saying that simply attacking her because you're intimidated by her sexuality is in any way justified as many guys did, but thats not the core issue and there will always be people who deviate from the core issue just reprimand them and move on

You are making the assumption that their opinions are based on a specific source - despite conveniently forgetting that, for the most part, this "source" has been mostly or completely deleted, after Zoe got in contact with the lead moderator for /r/gaming/ Secondly, the ex boyfriend would have every right to be angry based on the way he was treated - What you seem to not understand however, is that I am a games developer, and part of this industry, I have attended the same events and conventions - I have actually met Zoe who was, at the time I met her, accompanies by that "jealous and angry ex-boyfriend". And again, you are wrong - Nathan DID write a piece that covered her game, he just wrote it for another site - and this occured *AFTER* their "relationship" started.
Let me let you in on a little secret - i AM a woman, so you won't be able to use this line against me on a whim like you have done here.
They don't get a free pass - we only know the names of three of the accused, one has had to basically confirm it to remain employed, the other two have done their best to sidestep the issue, all of which if they knew she was still in a relationship, are just as bad as a result - the accused , and married guy especially for doing so while married of course. However, "look, those horrible men aren't being treated like shit, theyre given a free pass!" lends no excuse for her actions, nor does it mean they get a free pass - you are welcome to cover that portion of the topic specifically, and I'm sure most people here will agree that they're as guilty in all of this as she is accused of being - but flat out trying to silence anyone who aposes your opinion is the wrong approach entirely. |
You should know, there are men out there that respect you for speaking like this. It's truthful and, more importantly, not "cashing in" on the current social clime that demonizes men at every opportunity. Bravo.

Threads like this are the reason. People on VGC need to respect women more and women will come. I hope this thread gets locked.

respect should be earned... you should not be entitled to respect merely because of your gender... that would be ludicrous
i'll respect a woman or man that does honorable, admirable things, however, otherwise i'll still call a spade a spade because consistency should be important
