Forums - Gaming - MS told Blizzard 900p was "unacceptable" for Diablo 3 on Xbox One.

cool, so all MS have to do is say it is not ok to be 900p and give the devs the magic code update for every game. Problem solved.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

How is it superior? Care to explain?

it has local co-op

lol.

I'm assuming you're referring to offline play, since the PC can do local co-op as well.

Offline play doesn't make it superior. Especially when there's offline patches available for Diablo 3 on the PC.

Sure, all you have to do is buy another PC if you dont have one and another copy of the game and expansion. That sounds the same as just getting another controler. And f**k the big screen in the living room, we could just buy another 1080p big screen so we could both enjoy the awsomeness, unstead of one on the monitor and one on the hdmi tv. And it works for up to 3 players, 4 players is when it starts to get expensive to be on pc.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I see a lot of biases and selective reading on this thread. Theres good things and bad things about this article. We cannot just choose the ones that help our arguments.

MS demanding parity is out of the question a bad thing. They have the weaker hardware and the smalest install base so they have no right. And looking into the future I see a lot of developers just skiping the x1 if that continius.

MS ofering help when developers cant achive the best performance is a good thing. If they want to stand out then they have to put a little efort and not just fallback on thirdpartys devs to do all the work so then they can complaine about it. This is showing MS is working hard to put an end to this 900p vs 1080p nonsense, wich I highly doubt anyone can realy notice.

Choosing resolution over framerate is a mix. It can be good for some games, but some can really be damaged by this and diablo 3 is definetly one of thouse games. MS needs to think that maybe not everyone can see resolution diferences but everyone can see framerate drops and sony will autoatically win the best performance of the game. This could be a big gamble.

Honestly, it's kinda weird that Blizzard couldn't get a last-gen game at 1080p/60fps. Diablo 3 doesn't even look that great visually.

That being said, I'm not a fan of when console makers force devs to make changes to their games.

Did Blizzard tell Microsoft the hardware they chose was unacceptable?

A lot of developers felt the same way about PS3, but they did their best. We hope for the same on X1.

Diablo 3 wasn't well optimized so MS gave them some assistance. Now its 1080p with what appears to be minor drops.

Blizzard clearly isn't the best at getting the most out of consoles. I've been playing Diablo III Ultimate on the 360 and I'm experiencing choppiness, slow down, screen tearing, etc. Even for 360 this isn't a particularly great looking game.

I doubt MS forced them to make the change. They encouraged 1080p and assisted.

Its not about how good a character looks or the scenary. For diablo and games like it, its about all that its happening at the same time. First of your characters have masive magic that can affects large areas, some can sumon multiple creatures or abient changers all of wich with massive particle effects. The badest part is the enemy mobs. In some cases you can face 20-30 enemys at once, each with big atacks unike to it and some enemys can sumon also increasing the number even higher of enemys. Not to mentione the world is ramdomly generated so no game is ever the same, and the combinations of enemys change. This game is more demanding than rise where everithing is allways the same, enemys, dialoge, envyerment, trail you are allowed to wald, character you can be, friends that cant joing you, minimal enemis wwich all use the same moveset and expresions.

All I know is that relatively weak PCs can play Diablo 3 1080p/60fps no problem. It's all about the optimization.

Sorry for the late reply, I went to sleep

It has quite a few features that aren't in the PC version:

When you die the mob that kills you becomes a Nemesis, a really powerful mob that goes round hunting your freinds (or you) until someone kills it and everyone gets rewards.

Mailbox to send items/gold to friends.

Gifts for freinds drop when you get a legendary, which you have to ssend to your friend So you mail it to them (you benefit from friends playing)

Friends are levelled up to you when joining your game to increase ease of paying together.

Massacre bonuses now give an EXP multiplier for a minute instead of just a small bit of XP.

Destruction bonuses give a speed boost for a certain, scaling, amount of time.

Playstation also gets TLOU mobs and a transmog set.

framerate is more important
