I wonder whats up with the QC on the controllers.. Lots of people with PS4s saying DS4's seem to be suffering from the same problems; after a while.

OP: I'd contact Sony and see if they can replace it with a new one.

Of course they do. Controllers have warranty.

Yep. I'm not sure they'd try and fob you off though. Like say its "wear and tear" or something like that, and its not covered by their warranty

In Croatia, they are replacing them no questions asked.

Sony is aware of the problem, so they just replace them to avoid a PR scandal. If it was just an isolated incident, sure, they could claim "wear and tear" and blame your fingernails.

The first reports on this problem were coming even before release, when all demo consoles/controllers had the problem. At first, most of us attributed that to savages mauling them just for the kicks, little kids biting into them etc.

But when first batch of consoles hit, a lot of people reported the same problem. That's why I immediately used the ORBs in my first post, and the matter of fact is that soon thereafter, beginning of December, those ORBs were impossible to find anywhere in Europe for quite a while.

Ah fair play then to Sony.

Hopefully they'll make changes to the DS4 design to rectify the thumbstick problem (if they haven't already). Maybe new SKUs with use higher quality materials?

I've seen people using addon accessories on the thumbsticks but thats only a stop-gap solution. They really need to resolve this asap imo.

when you see that each controller at sony costs $10 is easy to know that problems.
