When they finish funding the last guardian

sooooo never?

I like the "Sony will never go bankrupt" spirit here. Kind of reminds me of north korean news.

They won't go bankrupt soon, but there is always a chance for every company to go bankrupt. Even if the Japanese government helps out with new loans or whatever. Do you really think they would just throw money at them for years?

I think Sony is in the middle of a transformation. They will never be the same company again that they used to be just 7 or 8 years ago. I still expect them to become more about entertainment, content and software (Read: Movies, Music, Games) than hardware. Vaio laptops are gone already, TVs are sperated and their smartphones are actually down YoY.

Sony will be a much smaller, but profitable company in the future.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I have a ps4 and have bought every playstation system, but let's be honest. Sony is a shell of it's former self and we all know they'll go bankrupt eventually. Am,I right guys? huh guys,am I right? mkay!!!!!

I visit this forum very rarely but every time I'm so annoyed some people use it just to spew the first silly thing that comes to their head.

To your question, it should not not take an adult to tell you that's not how companies work. Sony is not just one thing, some departments are losing money some are not. Vaio kept costing them so they sold it.

I mean Jesus,  this is not 4chan !

They've been doing so since 1994 according to the internet. In reality it will never happen, because Sony would be saved by the japanese government even IF such a scenario were to take place.

Not sure Japan would want to bail out Sony considering its recent 'junk status' rating.

Not for a long long time is my bet. Even though I doubt they have the Japanese government behind them, they do have large cash reserves and assets to last for years. It is a company in transformation so we should se it grow soon enough.

Sony is too big to fail in the eyes of the government. Sony is an image for Japan and they are very proud of it. A recent study showed they were proud of Sony, it came in 2nd place even. Governments have bailed much less smaller companies these last couple of years.

Sony: going bankrupt since 2000, apparently.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

I don't really see Sony going bankrupt, but maybe they'll be brought out by a competitor.
