a connection with 10Mbps download and 3Mbps upload speed gonna be enough or not? this is like a very average connection speed in EU or the US but lol im in top 100 in Iran xD

That should be enough, but I think the distance between two consoles will also be a factor...

thx for the reply, i think i can at least use it with my friends who live inside Iran cause my ping inside of the country is like 10 to 20ms.

Add me if u want :)

such an amazing feature..

...means all those indie's that can't support native online co-op now have online co-op exclusively on ps4. half the games ever released are now "better on ps4". hell, if it works well i wouldn't be surprised to see some developers just drop online co-op entirely and let ps4 to take care of that for them.

How is taking turns on the controller coop?

You do know that if you shareplay only the remoteuser can play?

because you can either take control of player 1 or be player 2 on local coop,  it will still stream the same game.

Sounds reasonable, but its not for me - i gotz shitty internet

I'm talking about the discussion regarding streaming versus downloading. The response to downloading was that you'd have to download the game each time you used the feature. I would think you could download once then be done, if you want to keep the data on the console. Similar to how Sony said they'd auto download games for you based on what you played and bought.

That's not what I meant. For example, if the next assassain creed and the next call of duty is "shared" 1m times each.

50gig X 2 millions. This surely would affect PSN servers negatively, more traffic and server load and so on. Impractical in my opinion.

Streaming is the convient and the cheaper option for SONY. Otherwise, the feature wouldn't be free.

I'm still struggling to find the real catch here.

60 min per session is a little annoying but definitely more than managable if you can start as many sessions a day as you want. Having to stream it is not ideal, but what the heck, it's free so why complain? You'll probably will only be able to use it, if your friend isn't playing on his system or if you're playing a multiplayer game together, but I guess that was to be expected.

All in all it sounds like a pretty awesome feature.

Thats exactly how this all sounds like to me. Only problem is, since its streamed, internet is gona need to be top notch.

yea, the main bottle neck I see with this is the game owners upload speed - dl speed usually are high enough to receive a 720p+ videostream feed, but uploading that could be an issue for many people

There just has to be some other catch to it...other than your PS4 being unusable while your buddy is playing your game, idunno, gotta be something.

Thanks jlmurph!

But I don't think there is.

This is the same idea as Remote Play on the Vita or PSTV, only a bit "remoter" and on another account (thus the need for time limit).

Oh there is a catch but they've mentioned it once already, one of you has to pay for this service via PS+. But we all kind knew that anyway.

I don't expect it to be used that way anyway, I half expect it to be used more in the lines of "Help me get passed this boss I'm stuck on." or "Try out this game I just bought so you can get it too and we can play together."

These are the kind of social gaming things Sony wanted to accomplish. And they sounds great.

Hmm, pie.

True, I feel that share play will automatically scale video upload quality based on your internet speed. I can see it uploading at as little as youtube quality 360p/480p with those with really great connections being to stream at as high as 720p.

Not true, playing coop and multiplayer using shareplay is possible.

Seems you are right. Some sites reported it differently. So it's actually an absolute killer feature. Except that it all depends on the internet connection. So the experience for the visitor will be even worse than PSNow.

yeah, it should be killer.    as i understand it this is basically psnow or psvita's remote play except from ps4 to a friend's ps4.  basically 1 screen is rendered based on the host's ps4.   you're right that not all co-op can work this way.   their will still be a place for online co-op in things like resident evil where you wouldn't want to split a screen if you didn't have to but games with couch co-op but no online co-op now have online co-op on ps4.

i'm talking about games like LBP3, pixel junk shooter, mercenary kings, guacemelee, ect.  they already support couch co-op and playshare allows me to stream my screen to a friend and play virtual couch co-op.   a lot of these indies aren't good at writing online code so they either don't or don't do it well.

basically, i'm thinking about pupeteer.  LoVEd the game but could never plat because it doesn't have online co-op and i don't have friends that can come to my couch often.  this would have allowed me to plat that game.   sooo much awesome.
