If and when the next-gen consoles have enough titles that appeal to Japanese gamers, then you'll see a tidal shift of them adopting the newer platform. I think games like MGS4, GT5, FF13 will help PS3 alot (people go nuts for these games over here). And also the anticipated multiplatform games like Resident evil 5 will boost PS3 sales much more than for the 360. |
Also, I think your list might be biased, because it doesn't include big Wii japanese released, like Monster Hunter 3, Brawl, Kart, Fit, or Zelda. Those games definately boost sales a lot. Think of all the Wii has going for it already, and a future price drop, it really has just as much Japanese stuff as the PS3 atm from a sales perspective. |
I was not talking about the Wii. The Wii will keep selling, but it doesn't mean that the PS3 is dead. In Japan, Sony still has an strong brand in the Playstation. PS3 will do admirable sales eventually, I am sure of it. |
Thanks. It's good to get an explanation from someone in Japan explain the situation.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
