Forums - Nintendo - I went to the Brawl tournament this Saturday in Frisco. Here's my story.

Sounds like they were trying to set up a real brawl there. I blame Wii Fit!

Brawl tournament? It's not even released in America!

Rubang, that was a nice read. Those kids were probably just wanting to show everyone how kickass there are in Smash, rather than actually trying out the new stuff. I'm sooo picking Pit right off the bat when I get Brawl.

And let the record show, I like your elitist attitude.

Honestly, I don't like your or your elitist attitude one bit. That's just my opinion.

I share your opinion

Either you guys are joking and I didnt get it.

Or you are ravingly mad. First, its Rubang. Second, if everyone picks old characters and an old stage, you pretty much play the same old game with a graphics update. Would you not want to try the NEW things? NEW player? NEW stage?

That's why I think I'm going to get my Brawl copy at a Gamestop at midnight at a location that doesn't have a tournament. Not that that tournament would be as bad...it's not going to be 500 people or anything...but I bet I'd still have to wait too long, play a boring setup, etc...I'd rather grab the game at midnight and play it the way I want.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I will be the greatest in Brawl.

That sounds bad... You know, half of the people you play online is going to do the same thing. You see, let's say my friend played. He was horrible in Melee, but for some reason, when he played with Marth, he owned me so bad it was incredible (unless I played with IC)

Therefore, he never played with anyone else than Marth, and he probably won't in Brawl neither. He loved final destination, and would have chosen that online. I refused to play FD with him.

There are 3 groups of people who will play online:

1. Melee people: plays melee characters on melee courses, because they want to win ASAP.

2. Weirdo people: plays any character, choses courses from what he likes.

3. 'Hardcore' people: Plays the top tier only, and on Final Destination, because he wants a fair match, where the best player wins.

Remember: Only 40 % of Wii owners have online. That means 1 and 3 combined are about the size of 2. Therefore, nearly half the time you will play on FD or against Melee characters.

All the above are facts made up on the spot (unless 40 % online Wiis) so they're 92.867 % opinion based.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

why would you go to check out a new game and play with old characters....i may not always share the "elitist attitude" (people seem to forget that at one time they stated as a noob) but going and trying the same old same old is just stupid--i agree with you about the stages and characters

Aye, good write up and it hones in on the reasons why I'm not a big online gamer. I want to play new stuff and have fun, not go hardcore.
